How usable is it performance wise?

No one buys a tablet for performance, its for convenience/portability.

It works just fine as a media consumption device, internet browsing, video conference, work tool.

I had one running as digital photoframe (linked to google photos), had another as a digital phone (before whatsapp calling was a thing) with skype, so we do video call with relatives in other country.

yea I have multple units of this.

I'm planning to use it as a chromebook role. Using phone browser to navigate website for banking / bill payment is a hassle & opening a laptop takes too much time.

It would fit my needs if the browser performance is comprable to a simmilar priced android tablet.

Web browsing most definitely no problem, its a intel based machine & running windows. My kids also use this for somedays during lockdown with google meet for hours on end.
