Hi, the fan in my Mac mini (1.66GHz Core Duo) is dead and I couldn't be bothered to get it fixed. I checked the temperature and it usually hovers around 70 degrees so I guess it's okay. I only use it for Front Row so it's not doing much processing most of the time. I was just wondering, is there any way you can scale down the CPU speed so that it doesn't run as hot?
Your help is much appreciated. |

you can try bootcamp, manually change it like you do with normal computer, which i suppose intel. from there you find your way out. 70 degress celcius all the time isnt really good for the machine, the life span will diminish rapidly.
Install a fan yourself? lol. buy a cheap one then mount on it. and get it full speed all the time. then you dont need to risk instability of adjusting the proc speed. |
