Hi, the fan in my Mac mini (1.66GHz Core Duo) is dead and I couldn't be bothered to get it fixed. I checked the temperature and it usually hovers around 70 degrees so I guess it's okay. I only use it for Front Row so it's not doing much processing most of the time. I was just wondering, is there any way you can scale down the CPU speed so that it doesn't run as hot?

Your help is much appreciated. smile.gif

you can try bootcamp, manually change it like you do with normal computer, which i suppose intel. from there you find your way out. 70 degress celcius all the time isnt really good for the machine, the life span will diminish rapidly.

Install a fan yourself? lol. buy a cheap one then mount on it. and get it full speed all the time. then you dont need to risk instability of adjusting the proc speed.
