Also from the way, they announced that iPhone 15 Pro supported USB 3, yet only USB 2 cable given in box is lmao.

Basically USB 3 cable sold separately.

At this point, it looks like Apple definitely gearing up to remove cable in box starting with iPhone 16.

Correct, definitely within expectation but still bullsh*t practice lah.
But I gotta applaud Apple for making the USB 2 cable white, and the USB 3/Thunderbolt 4 Cable black colour, that means they have higher chance of selling USB 3 cable more due to black being perceived as more luxurious.

Camera performance is subjective, because how you want a photo and video to look is very subjective.

But this year in iPhone lineup, iPhone 15 Pro Max has best camera system with its optical 5x zoom, and even iPhone 15 Pro Max can do livestream because currently the 2023 MTV VMAs music awards show in the United States is using iPhone 15 Pro Max to livestream the entire award show on TV.

I find that camera capability already much more shocking than anything from the Android camp.

Though this is only the Pro Max though, the Pro and standard models no comment.

I find the livestream broadcast quality of iPhone 15 Pro Max based on the VMAs livestream quality to be very good, definitely something worth boasting about.

I wanna praise Apple for one thing, I think this year iPhone 15 Pro Max maybe biggest camera leap for them. Although the event made the camera quite underwhelming, I've seen some output video of the camera (MTV VMAs 2023 livestream braodcast and Professional Music Videos shot on the iPhone 15 Pro Max)

Specifically the music video has great output.

They definitely improved something in iPhone 15 Pro Max camera that they didn't properly showcase in the September event, because compared to last year iPhone 14 Pro Max, this year video samples that Apple posted are much better video quality in exposure, HDR and even lighting, maybe it was the video ray tracing capability on iPhone 15 Pro series?

In fact, brave enough to livestream an entire Hollywood Awards Show on iPhone 15 Pro Max Cameras alone is wild, Apple is definitely cooking something in this year's Pro.

Black, black is always Apple's most premium and Professional colour. For example, Macbook Pro get black Apple stickers while Macbook Air get white Apple Stickers.

Idk why these only seeing spec sheet, but the camera samples of iPhone 15 Pro shows a lot of improvement over 14 Pro despite still being 48MP sensor.

And the standard 15 and 15 Plus is also now 48MP like last year Pro. But from samples, camera quality is not bad, but not show stopping.

My recommendation is
If wanna overall good QoL and not picky about photos and videos (still 9/10 high standard camera quality) , then iPhone 15/15 Plus is enough.
If want the best camera quality overall but not picky about zoom, get iPhone 15 Pro.
If want the best camera quality and also want 5x optical zoom, then iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Hardware wise 15 Pro not much different from 14 Pro, but software, they added video ray tracing and all other fancy terms that Apple say can enhance the experience.

Currently, 15 Pro samples much better than the horrendous 14 Pro samples last year imo (taste is subjective).

But the better recommendation is trying it out physically in store instead of just relying on samples.

Damn in that case, your iPhone 11 can even last until iPhone 17 lmao.

Meanwhile the iPhone 14 Pro battery drain issue got some people already under 90% after a year 😬

I mean the editing is good, but background and foreground separation damn clear for videos, I know it is a music video, tapi the video output intrigued me a lot, almost like iPhone 15 Pro video capability showcase.

But as a poster here mentioned live broadcast probably better indicator of quality, since video still involves a lot of post-editing.

Ya it's damn good for a livestream, though I can feel like the quality is not as good as studio camera, but the fact that it can compete with studio camera at all in livestream broadcast is a feat many other smartphone cameras unable to compete wehhhh

On life support, but to be fair, for iphone 12 pro jumping to standard 15 already enough, since you are used to 60Hz, standard 15 has better cameras and better performance than 12 Pro already. No major reason to get 15 Pro actually for 12 Pro user.

Now even standard 15 got same matte glass back as Pro models

The difference is 3x optical zoom (Pro) vs 5x optical zoom (Pro Max) this time.

And standard 15/15 Pro now already have 2x "optical" (using Apple advertised term) zoom. So jumping from 2x to 3x optical not a bug difference compared to 5x
