Rather than the lens, i'd say the DoF is largely attributed to the large sensor for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The Huawei P60 Pro has a faster lens (wider aperture) but negated by a smaller sensor.

Photo outcome especially, it can be frustrating when you're taking close ups, mainly because of these few reasons.
1) Rather far minimum focusing distance, you can't go up close like a typical iPhone
2) Too much bokeh - imagine you're taking photo of a plate of food at an angle; half the plate will be out of focus unless you stop it down to F/4.0 manually from F/1.9; only then it's usable.

Negative points aside, it's really really artistic if you know what you're doing. The 'Leica Authentic' mode is flat enough to be manipulated in post such as Adobe LR, although not at iPhone level

Photo outcome is very usable, I always find Xiaomi's colour science somewhat decent, ever since my first encounter with the brand with the Mi 4i. Which is atypical of a Chinese phone where they usually delivers punchy colours and over-sharpening in their photos.

As i'm getting the iPhone 15 Pro Max, i'm still contemplating to stick as planned with a duo iPhone combination - great for seamless integration, or do a hybrid Mi 13 Ultra - iPhone 15 Pro Max combo - best camera duo in my hands
*
Hmm,,, I understand, what I concerned about is will the iPhone 15 ProMax will be more likely optical lens feel (like Xiaomi 13 Ultra) instead of AI in interfere (Only Flagship comparison)

Pre-order allows for a later pick-up date right? I am not around (overseas) and will be back only later.

Make sure you choose retailers or telcos which let's u pay in full and then select a later date for collection. Some retailers only collect a pre order deposit like switch and u pay the balance when you collect your phone.

Usually Apple Store will show a later date but they will deliver earlier but yeah there is a risk.
I see.
Damn my partner is getting Black Titanium 1TB this Friday in BKK physical Apple Store. cry.gif

Yes but 2020, the iPhone 12 release year was the first year Apple.com does preorder for Malaysia and everyone else follows suit. That time nobody knows for sure bust just follows what is stated on Apple’s website. I am damn sure there is no preorder for iPhone 11 Pro Max other than the 12am launch date purchase because launch date was on the 27th and my planned proposal to my then gf is on the 28th. tongue.gif

So ya that’s why I have this great love with Lazada Apple authorized reseller. rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

i think both are not wrong

my experience
iPhone 12 pro Apple Store pre order is 9PM 6th Nov, this should be first time iPhone can pre order from Apple Store online MY
iPhone 13 pro I get from maxis pre order is 12AM 1st Oct
iphone 14 pro Apple Store pre order is 12AM 16th Sep
all having Friday as pre order date, launch date is a week later

seeing from past years, if Apple Store online MY did not stated time, then it should means 12AM, unless stated time sweat.gif

is up to telcos, switch, machine, lazada, shopee, etc to follow Apple Store pre order date and time, period laugh.gif so far they follow if not mistaken

I plan to sell my iPhone 12 Pro to get a larger screen iPhone 15 plus or pro max, can someone suggest the best ways to sell iPhone 12 Pro away?

Is trade in with Apple Store a good idea?

How much I should expect to sell iPhone 12 Pro for?
*
Get iPhone 15 Plus tbh, you don't need to upgrade to 15 Pro Max. 15 Plus this year has the frosted matte back like Pro Models now.

And yeah, best way to sell old phone is normally Carousell, and Facebook Marketplace. There's also Lowyat Garage Sales forum, but less audience.

In case you want to order from Maxis, you can register your interest now
https://www.maxis.com.my/en/devices/apple/iphone/

*One of the FAQ:
My mobile line is currently tied to a device contract, can I still pre-order?

Only mobile lines with less than a 1 month remaining contract period will be able to pre-order online.

If your remaining contract period is MORE than 1 month, you will need to terminate your contract before you can pre-order.

I’ll be going down this route. My line is tied to a contract till 1st October, so technically I should be able to pre-order… kua… in any case, if I don’t, I’ll just walk in after the launch and try my luck wherever there is stock. In no hurry to get the phone smile.gif

this question should be easily determine after analysis done

1. usually people will choose contract without doubt if they get phone/mobile subsidy from company they worked for, e.g.: RM100+ subsidy, then they can go for contract with cheaper phone

2. I am with maxis contract every 2 years previously, ended coming Oct for 13 pro (using 14 pro now buy outright)
- my case is, I am paying RM128/month (which I need more data all the while), I get around ~1400 subsidy from maxis, so my 13 pro two years ago i paid ~RM39xx (RRP5499)
- 1400 divide to 24 months is ~RM58

But last year I add on maxis fiber RM59 (30Mbps), my postpaid become unlimited, without subline needed as a consideration, I can just downgrade to RM79 package vs RM128 (RM49 saving per month)
so the question come here,

option 1: i go with maxis for 15 pro (RRP5999), maxis subsidy 1400 for MOP139 plan per month, phone is ~RM4500
option 2: i buy outright pay 5999 without going with maxis contract, i pay MOP79 plan per month
if you think maxis will offer MOP109 for iphone 15 series, then the subsidy I am sure wont reach 1400, telco subsidy is all depends on how much you pay for the plan, it can be more, can be less, end of the day you need to take the subsidy amount divide by 24 months contract and versus monthly plan cost

I will weigh which option is better for now biggrin.gif
zerolution is another story, zerolution phone subsidy usually less than normal contract (correct me if i am wrong)

p/s: now phone plan with 5G (DNB) is quite cheap, i would prefer option 2 for now, so i dont get tie with a contract since my data is unlimited laugh.gif
