I feel like this needs to be raised up higher as it’s clearly very widespread. I know this because I have been babying the case and this still happened to me. I wonder if Apple will give us a replacement or are all batches going to end up like this. It’s quite unacceptable for only a week’s use. I have an old leather case from my XS Max which has actually torn apart over years of use, so this seam is actually a cause for concern “tearing” so early on. Have any of your FW cases been affected? Otherwise I’m actually enjoying the fit and feel of the FW case so far.

I searched switch and UR by switch stores, all don’t have 512GB model ya. I needed the 512GB cos my 256GB phone full already. Everytime i change phone, it is either cos the storage is not enough already or the battery life has dropped below 80%. My current phone is 256GB, and it is full, so i ma upgrade to 512GB lo. Got no time or rather lazy to delete stuff inside to clear up the spaces.

There were few times where the storage reached its max capacity and the phone can’t be switched on anymore, had to hard reset it and restore from backup. Seriously troublesome. And when the storage reached the max cap, i can’t even delete photos or videos from my phone anymore, the whole phone is like not functioning anymore, not sure why is it like this. So i had to always make sure that it stays at 250-251GB like that, so that the same problem doesn’t repeat.

If one really needs to do so, likely they may need 2tb to be enough if they are having a 256gb phone plus other Apple devices.

I think it is wiser to save the money for either buying a 512gb model or use the money to buy portable ssd of 2tb to manually backup his photos and videos instead.

With usb 3.0, it is also easier for one to backup the entire iPhone even they have 512gb or 1TB with ease. Not to mention if it is only 256gb.

If lightning it will be painful to do so.

This is how smart Apple is. They ‘slice’ so accurately that u are totally under their manipulation. Imagine anyone who owns an iPhone 15 pro max, 256gb is the minimum storage capacity and it also means that no one will go for 200gb plan Becos it will never be enough so technically one is forced to go for 2tb plan.

So technically I personally will never go for iCloud+ now but stick to higher storage capacity instead with the savings for not going for iCloud+.

if the new apple store is opened in bolehland soon, buy from there next time becos within 14 days, can always change of mind by refunding it in full. 

Yesterday afternoon, walk from one end to the other in IOI Putrajaya hunting for a promax any color. Machines, UR, TMT all do not have stock. Guess I have to wait for my preorder to arrive, 2nd batch, preordered 24/9/23 with Senq.

Managed to get a 1-to-1 replacement?

Collected my new 15PM, went through a roller coaster to get the replacement. Learnt a lot from this experience and concluded that this will be my last purchase from third party (telco), will only purchase from AASP mostly for post sales reasons.

Came in a brand new box. My case quite complicated, went up all the way to apple’s head of department highest tier (apparently their CS got many tiers bla bla bla), initially maxis reject and give issue cos telcos are third party, not apple’s accredited reseller, hence the rejection (funny thing even with maxis safe device they declined the replacement), when HOD intervene then all issues became no issue.

Telcos don’t get phones from Apple, they get from specialised distributor (they call it HQ)

Conclusion, if buy from aasp all these would have been solved on day 2. Apparently Apple has a special ‘code’ when thrown out, the authorized resellers will not question further, straight replace 1 to 1…not applicable to third party…so lesson to me, buy from AASP or apple..

Not all aasp provide good service.
Few years ago i bought iphone from switch and gotten problematic phone. The antenna is faulty and my phone keep on searching for signal. I went back to switch THE NEXT DAY and they refused to replace it for me and said they will send it for warranty. I was like what the heck ? And keep arguing with them but to no avail. At the end, i send an complaint email to APPLE HQ and replacement was arrange to me direct by apple (not switch)

No hunting for my first unit. Actually preordered with Senq, 2nd batch. Todate no news

Lol I put 15PM and 14PM side by side and it’s 2 different tone…15PM is much warmer close to bronze xD maybe my eyes idk lol….won’t be too worried about it though, just torch which I seldom use..

Hi all, what are the disadvantages of buying the iPhone 15 PM from telcos like Maxis? It should still have warranty by Apple  and can go to service centres like Machines, etc?....and can also buy the Apple Care Protection Plan right? Thanks

The disadvantage is that you need to sign up for a post paid plan or a plan which means getting into a contract with the telco. The advantages with that, you get the phone cheaper via the telcos.

Actually it’s not too bad buying outright from AASP, take 15PM 256gb for instance, maxis subsidize 1.6k for 139/month and if you switch to hotlink 60 per month you save 79 there x 24 months = 1.9k. Plus the freebies you get from AASP and most importantly the after sales from AASP/Apple is above everything else..buying from Apple upon unboxing if you see a hairline scratch they change for you 1:1 right away without questioning (of course subject to stock), with telcos, good luck getting it replaced…buyer’s remorse law apparently not applicable for third parties…learnt my lesson.

Can change sim no problem even during contract. But if you don’t pay your bills, your phone will be imei locked - you can’t use your phone.

I read that even if you finished paying your phone (after 24 months), if you are still on the telco and don’t pay your bills, your phone might still get locked.

This is usually what happens, people be on Maxis zerolution, sell the phone to others, and don’t pay the bills. The buyer will get an unusable phone… hence why zerolution phones are undesirable

I dunno if that only applies for Maxis, but for Celcom my colleague is on Celcom and he bought the iPhone 14 last year on Device Contract. He paid his bills normally but suddenly has the no service error. When Celcom and Digi merged, they had a problem with something and his device was tagged as non-payment account thus imei locked. He had to call the call centre, call centre say not locked coz account was not barred. It was only solved when he personnaly went to bluecube centre and they found that his account was incorrectly tagged. They unlocked his imei and service was back.

So no, i can say for certain, if you don’t pay, they can lock your imei, even if you are on normal device contract
