hi there

My partner and I are planning our wedding, and we have decided we want to host our wedding solemnisation and dinner in KL (we're both from other states) as it is easy for friends and family to attend.

We know that you can invite a JPN official out to solemnise the wedding with a fee, but we're not sure if this is possible as we want to have the soleminsation at 5-6pm.

So we are also exploring other avenues. However, we're both Christian and most of the organisations require one partner to be Buddhist. Are there any assistant registrars who will solemnise our wedding for us (with angpao of course)?

Thanks in advance for any input or advice!

Yes, it is possible. My friend did it around that hour at a restaurant. It was more than ten years ago so don't ask me for details. You could discuss with your solemniser.

That's good news! I hope they'll still consider it now. Thank you

Thanks for the reply!

FWIW, I have since spoken to an officer at JPN Dutamas who informed me that for weekends, they will only officiate up till 4pm latest. So we will need to make the event a luncheon to accommodate them.
