Advices and suggestions are very much appreciated. Especially if you’re familiar with the field.
I’m about to enroll into university. I’m thinking about a degree in Graphic Design. I don’t want to be unemployed after graduating or end up working at a completely different field.
Is the graphic design industry saturated? What does the future of graphic designing look like in Malaysia? How skillful do you have to be in designing to secure a job overseas? Any other career paths related to designing that might have a big demand in the future?
(I do want a degree. Not looking to just learn skills online)

QUOTE(Sagiez @ Sep 27 2022, 10:31 AM) It is very saturated market. Seriously underpaid and the salary progress is the slowest among other profession. I know so many graphic designers that still earn below 3k in their late 20's and still below 4k in their late 30's or even in 40's. There are so many graphic designers available that employer don't have any trouble to find new fresh & young designers with below 2.5k salary to replace you, unless your skill are very2 exceptional. Don't get too carried away with your passion and interest in art/design. It only fun in first few years of working thinking how lucky you are able to work in your area of interest/passion until after few years you realized your salary still stuck below 3k-4k while all your friends on different fields already earn double and perhaps more. I like that you mentioned about not getting carried away. I mean, we do want the $$$ and finer things in life eventually. I’m considering a Computer Science degree instead. I’m good at Math, tried programming before. Very intimidated however since I’m not the geeky type who’s into technology like the other bois(I’m a gal)
