Depends on what your application is. If social media and whatsapp yes of course iphone is more than enough

but if you post on website or print banner u will see the difference

But latest iphone can save RAW files? so might be interesting

Yes but still few generation behind sony. Probably ISO 5000 already at limit. Use lightroom still so much noise.

work around it, go for long exposure 5-10s to compensate for the poor iso performance

It doesnt work that way. Ipon raw wont save it from physics. What ipon does cleverly is with its computational software that process the image. Example it overexpose and underexpose at same time and combine 2 of them to create the HDR pic. smartphones nowadays does way more than that combining multiple images with different effects. So if you shoot raw, you kind of missing out on what ipon does best and it wont really save the pic from really bad settings.

That said, dedicated camera still the way to go if you want the highest quality RAW photo.

it's like comparing street legal car made for convenience with formula one that is made for speed.

But the best camera is the one you have with u. If I just need to snap photos for social media ill just use my phone

But i have my camera if i wanna do more hobby stuff

Sold my FF sony a7iv tho and kept my sony apsc as i didnt have time to play with it. Apsc camera good enough for me for the time being

"Best camera is the one you have with u" is an overused and misused term. It basically just means if you dont have any other camera with you, just grab whatever closest that can shoot photo cause it's better to capture something than nothing.

It does not mean however you can create a masterpiece equivalent to a dedicated camera setup. A skilled photog will always create something better with better camera gear given the choice. I got annoyed whenever a photog wannabe come up to me and boast they capture the most beautiful sunset photo with their phone and declare themselves "pro" when they dont understand how to use their camera gear properly.

If you look closely the FF one is much much cleaner than ipon pic. ipon pic I can see the over hdr effect with halo around sharp edges.

But again, average people probably dont go that deep and just look at their phone screen anyway.

the gap between full frame and iphone is really getting smaller....

Which really means those Nikon, cannon , sony is lacking software expertise in bringing up the best in their camera.
