Currently running Kenwood DDX-715 without amplifier and the sound is satisfying with it driving German Maestro 6" components for front and back.

I am still tinkering on the idea to change to Android HU, main concern is these skinny Android HU may not have enough juice to power my component speakers.

Begin to notice there are small amplifier designed for Android HU, that --might-- fit into the existing slot for current 200mm player.

Do you need an amp for component speakers?

if you do, how's these small amps performing?

with amplifiers sure the sound will be better and your component set is utilized in a better way.
even with your kenwood DDX715, adding an amp will enhance the sound.
