Recently came across with this brand that claimed they are from Germany. The supplement stores around my area (Kuching, Sarawak) are also selling their products on the shelf.

However, the price for their product and the lack of information over the internet on them made me a bit skeptical. Hence I am asking for the reviews and opinion for this brand.

Anyone can shed some lights? biggrin.gif

Too bad that the ON is always out of stock at my local supplement stores. If order through online then I have to pay for the ridiculous shipping fee cause I am staying in East Malaysia. cry.gif

just to share few findings
-the address location of the website is a shared office space in germany. you can google it out. it could be HQ or something since its german language i can't do more than google...
-the halal cert published certified the ingredient they use from certain sources e.g arla source and not their whey per se. e.g halal cert on nutri whey 800 but i don't find this product in the website.. probably their whey is from this nutri whey 800.

what i have seen before but does not imply the same is locally made products but register brand at oversea. marketing will say its oversea brand.

their protein itself .. i just look at king whey.. my comment would be
- good profile based on supplement facts. 32g with 26.1g protein
- i don't see the ingredient list. ingredient list should be publish per flavor and this is important to me at least. you can look at the tube at the shop. it should specify the ingredient list.

my personal opinion, we should support newly established or new products as long the info published is sufficient and honest. else find reputable brand. so far i source my protein from ON, myprotein and lushprotein.

I did checked with my local supplement store about Muscle Kingdom. They said this is a new brand so it's normal to have very limited information on the internet. They assured me that MK product is safe to consume.

There are a lot of 'new' sellers selling ON at Shopee Lazada at a much cheaper price. I know the brand is reputable, but not these sellers.
Wonder if these are imitation whey

I decided to give Muscle King a try first. Hopefully it is not a scam product.

Couldn't find this brand on google selling anywhere outside of Malaysia. Reminds me of a brand called WHEY DEPOT that claims it has a FDA-approved facility in Texas, but upon checking in the FDA database, no results are shown. No other country outside of Malaysia is selling WHEY DEPOT as well. Link to the whey depot discussion https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5164308

I wouldn't spend my money on brands that I've never heard of, and that has no information that can be found online. It may not harm or kill you, but who knows the contents inside? Perhaps it's just Milo or any other choco powder used in a "packaging" that calls itself "whey protein". Not unless you sent it to a lab for verification smile.gif

My advice? Go for a legit reputable brand from shopee or lazada official store. ON and MyProtein has their own online shop there.

Yes, the uncertainty towards this product makes me decided to send it for a lab test soon. Will finish it and buy a more reputable brand.
Beside ON & MyProtein, how about VitaXStrong? I have been hearing about this brand for quite some time too.

Before you invest in ANY protein, you might want to see if they contain the following ingredients:
- saccharin
- acesulfame
- neotame
- aspartame
- sucralose

Especially the last 2, it's the result of inventing pesticides.

Please post the lab test here when you managed to get it! I'm really curious about such local brands as well.

As for VitaXStrong, there isn't many results shown in google. But a search on Google shows that it's a Thai brand, but "claim" they're from the US.

Muscle Kingdom & WHEY DEPOT - Malaysia brands, but "claim" it's from the US

VitaXStrong- Thai brand, but "claim" it's from the US

So I have no clue about the legitimacy of such brands, but the false marketing/ frauds about its origin, further solidify my stance in avoiding them at all cost.

ON, MYPROTEIN, Dymatize, BSN, Cellucor, BPI, MuscleTech, Gaspari, BioTech, and MusclePharm are few of the brands that I can think of, that has been in the market for a long time now. Been using myprotein for years now, since it's the cheapest per g of protein that I've found.

Because my local supplement stores are mostly selling those "x" brands. They seemed like lack of interest in bringing in those reputable brands such as ON, Dymatize, Myprotein, and keep on saying "out of stocks".

Besides, the price gap is too huge. 5lbs of ON is selling at around RM 290-300 in my local supplement stores, same to those other more reputable brands, mostly around RM 260 and above. So those "x" brands are like nearly RM 100 less of those brands.

I also checked Lazada and Shopee for those reputable brands but the shipping fee is like 20% of the protein price.

Local supplement stores are mostly selling those "x" brands because it's where they earn the most profit margin. I could buy 5lbs worth of Milo for RM60, repackage it and call it protein from the US, and sell it for 200. RM10 on packaging, I earn 90, retailers earns 40. So makes sense for retailers to push for such dubious products where they can earn more

I've checked shopee for myprotein, seller based in Sarawak. Delivery is free and it's just RM 265 after discount for 5lbs, which is similar to west malaysia. https://shopee.com.my/Myprotein-Impact-Diet...d2-ee805fb09bd8 Just 2 stocks left so I suggest you get it asap smile.gif

never trust a brand if its too cheap. i am not saying its bad but rm100 vs rm260 for same 5lbs...... probably for me only and i am a picky eater. screening ingredient list and nutritional info is my default checklist on food i eat.

another kinda local or sg brand i frequent is lushprotein. delivery is quite ok but u hv to wait for their discount. they just revise their pricing model and normal price is ridiculous without discount. so wait for it. i usually buy their soy protein and non flavor whey. they are good for their macha too but on pricey side. else myprotein uk store lo... wait for discount only buy.

https://lushprotein.my/pages/faq <-- for ur shipping calculation

else... get actual food lo... rm4-rm5 raw chic breast around 400gm at bigaeon, or rm20 whole grilled bird at aeon... or watever supermarket at ur area and split by ur need. egg also easy... tofu bla bla bla and u know the list....

Ya I always try my best to acquire protein through real food. But sometime we really need to rely on supplement like whey protein to hit the macro, especially when you are not in time to prepare your food due to long working hours & etc.

Still pretty decent tbh. It has 100 servings, which comes to RM2.95 per serving.

MP Impact Whey (100 Servings): RM 2.95/Serving, 19g protein per serving
MP Impact Diet Whey (84 Servings): RM 3.15/Serving, 19g protein per serving
ON Gold Standard (74 Servings): RM 3.38/ Serving. 24g protein per serving
