Ipod is known to have battery issues and several other minor problems including crashes when you have large amount of stored songs and videos in a small 'portable hard disk'. These crashes would surely lead to some problems in the future.
The problem here is, even for a matter as small as replacing the battery it comes along with the warranty. Once your warranty is dead, you might as well dump your ipod after a year if there are any problems.
So I would justify buying the extended warranty by asking do you see yourself spending almost RM 1000 for a product that is confirmed to last a year (any problems after the warranty is dead would mean spending $$ for a new unit of ipod) or RM 1150 for a product which is guaranteed to work for 3 years?
And FYI, the applecare extended warranty is literally the best warranty program on earth. They are always willing to replace a new unit for you. So you might give that a tought.
