luckily the sound signature fits my taste so well, just the bass abit much because i'm used to flat studio monitoring headphone

edit: after listening a while i find the bass amount is nice

Sounds quality not that great if compared to WF-1000XM4... But comfortable level is really good, cause surprisingly no need really push airpod pro into ear. Noise cancelling is good. I would say slightly better than 1000xm4.. transparency mode volume is like half volume or lvl10 ambient sound of 1000xm4..

Overall it is a good buy for Apple users compared to earlier airpod pro gen 1..

which phone did you tried it on? afaik iphones doesn't support LDAC, xm4s sound way better with it on android phones. I have Ultimate Ears UE900 so yeah of course it sounded better than airpods pro 2 but airpods pro 2 sounded so balanced for me (except slightly more bass) that it's my go to now.

I need to try xm4 or xm5 if i got the chance, I tried their headphone xm4 and xm5 and i can't stand the sound at all, the bass is just too much it's hurting my ears. I tried sennheiser wireless headphones and they sounded really good and balanced, the airpods pro 2, their earpod had around the same sound profile as the sennheiser. my beyer also sounded close but with clinical treble, recessed mids and way less bass.

True, XM4 support LDAC.. but you need to play lossless audio codec to enjoy it.. it will not convert mp3 lvl and go to lossless level, even they deem their DSEE extreme could mimic it, but that is feature of Sony buds.. i tried airpod pro2 on 13 PM, XM4 on Sony phone.. both from same manufacturer.. airpod pro basically nothing to adjust except mode change.. xm4 i leave it as default from headphone app.. the only thing to adjust is ambient mode, change voice volume to 10 to equally match with airpod pro.. me and my friends sitting in mcd which is an noisy environment to try out.. we've tested different set of ear tips and even XM4 do have original memory foam tips and rubber tips.. we're impressed with that APP2 could cancel more voice than XM4 without really push APP2 into ear (in fact cant really push like XM4)..

all of us agreed that APP2 noise cancelling is better.. sounds quality we tried on few tracks through youtube music only.. APP2 sounds good, no issue like what reddit users claim, out sync, faded sounds.. all good in our 2 set of APP2.. But with same track played on XM4, we're pretty sure we can feel the difference.. not to say APP2 sounds bad, but me and my friends all felt XM4 sounds better..

never goes wrong with any of it..

APP2 = Airpod Pro 2
XM4 = WF-1000XM4
XM5 is only available for Sony headset..

For headset part, personally felt sounds much clarity and it is significant compared to XM4 headset.. but noise cancelling in XM5 is weaker than XM4.. but since this is Airpod topic, we just doing comparison between APP2 vs XM4 earbud from Sony..
