What would you recommend for 12w downlight?
1. Osram LEDvance (highest lumens)
2. Phillips (seems most popular)
3. Pila (also phillips but cheaper)
any comments?

Nobody can give you a concrete answer as lights generally work well out of the box and last for years if you are considering reputable brands like Philips or Osram. Just go for whichever is within your budget and criteria (higher lumen, higher CRI etc)

I used Philips 12W downlight for my house. Very satisfied with the ambience and quality of the lighting. Lifespan can last 20,000hrs or abt 13 years with daily use 4hrs

any china oem ones will do. iwachi or w/e. they're really cheap and generally last very very long. and downlight is easy to change DIY and cheap too.

Downlight quite easy to change but the problem is I don’t like to breathe in the false ceiling dust so I retrofit the electrical connections with two Wago 221-412 ‘s so I can just swap out the lights quickly, without worrying about the electrical connections screwing and balancing on ladder
