Basically chasing out all the low-quality foreigners and eventually, property developers need to do a fire sale to clear all the unsold stocks.
The middle class from more developed countries are hardly low quality. They drove a lot of charitable movements around stray dogs and women’s empowerment. They also contributed to a cosmopolitan upper middle lifestyle and expenditure.

why condem, if Malaysia want to control the quality of people coming over to Malaysia?
we filter off, put bar high. and then review and lower if needed.
you want all tom dick and harry to come over?
It just seems very short sighted in a time when everybody is keen to get back to business and open up the country for some much needed cashflow. The unfriendly and flip flop Policies have really driven a lot of people away.

I believe this is different from the MM2H program. It's another route and may help to boost our housing market, education market, medical tourism etc. However shady folks may benefit the most from this... i hear the Rajapaksas are first in line...

The MM2H criteria are about the same without the exorbitant fee and mandatory 90 day stay. I’m not entirely clear if this takes it’s place. Regardless neither are PR in any form when one can stay in Malaysia 90 days at a time anyway.
