Bro, its RM 1million, most of M40 of others developing countries hit that bracket. Don't make the T10 of others developing countries laugh out their lung. Unless this scheme is designed to attract non-developing countries VIP T10
*
RM1m is not the deciding criteria. Able to have an annual income 480k is the true criteria. If you are merely M40, you are unlikely to be able to make 480k while living in Malaysia. If you can make 480k per year while living here, your savings will make you into T10 bracket soon enough.

Unless there is such odd cases such as working for USA companies and getting silicon valley pay but able to remote work from Malaysia. I doubt such job currently exist.

According to Hamzah, one of the main criteria is that applicants must have at least RM1 million in a fixed deposit account.

Most developing countries >mid M40 expats package easily make $120k(rm480k) per annum. Expats package never follow local assigned (ie msia) payscale

Expats are already living here, they don't need this program in order to stay here. If they stop working and wants to stay here, they need rm16m to quality, which will be T10 even in their own country.

If we are looking for people who still have an active income but not having a visa as expat, yet want to come stay in Malaysia. That's an odd combination of criteria which most people won't meet. Unless work for silicon valley salary but yet get the WFH treatment that they can choose to stay in Malaysia not as expat but under this program. That is rare, and probably none

In bold. Obviously, one or two trades came to mind.

Ok i get what is this scheme all about then. That explains one-off fee 200k on principal applicant, 100k per dependant plus annual renewal fee.

I was thinking, wtf who the hell would want to pay a fee to you for bringing my monies to your bank? Now i do know, who wld gladly pay that fee

MM2H used to be quite price competitive until 2020. Then msia suddenly pumped the price to monthly income USD10K ans Savings USD100 mil or something like that. Many ppl were pissed. U try search MM2H in YouTube and u can read the hateful comments on Malaysia.

On the other hand Thailand just released thai golden visa and this is well received. Cambodia literally copied MM2H and call their program CM2H and its gaining traction.

So any so called Visa program in Malaysia is not that popular since trust has been broken.

Premium visa programme gets 20,000 applications on first day
https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2022...ns-on-first-day

ARAU: The premium visa programme (PVIP) has been a huge success, with the Home Ministry receiving 20,000 applications from agents on the day of its launch on Thursday (Sept 1), says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

"I would like to state that for the first phase, we have set a limit of no more than 25,000 applications,” the Home Minister told reporters after the Menyemai Kasih Rakyat (Mekar) programme with the Siamese community at the Prisons Training Centre (Pulapen), Perlis Correctional Centre, here on Monday (Sept 5).

Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, National Registration Department director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, Perlis state secretary Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad as well as Dewan Negara member and Siamese Association of Malaysia chairman Senator Ak Nan a/l Eh Took were also present.

Hamzah said the Cabinet had previously agreed that applicants need to pay a one-time fee of RM200,000 and a one-time fee of RM100,000 per dependent.

"If the response is good, we might raise the fees in the next phase,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hamzah said the Mekar programme made it easier for the Siamese community in the state to change the descent information in the identity card from Thai to Siamese.

He said the Siamese community in Kedah, Kelantan, Perak and several other states were asked to apply for new identity cards at the nearest National Registration Department office.

Mekar was introduced in 2017 to provide Malaysians with easy access to services, including the registration of births, deaths and identification cards, along with advice, specially catered to residents in the interior and rural areas. – Bernama
