what is the latest OSX that powerbook G4 supports?, panther, tiger?

As thread title implies. is 10.3.9 (panther) the latest OSX that powerbook G4 supports? or can it be installed with OSX ver10.4? I installed 10.3.8 on my powerbook G4 and now the trackpad/trackbutton doesnt work, completely. I've googled around and it is suggested that I install the OSX disc that came with my powerbook, but since powerbook G4 can support 10.3.8, I installed it, and now the trackpad is not working. I want to update to the latest OSX that the G4 can support to see if it will fix my trackpad issue. |

Yes G4 can install Tiger, and so as Leopard but expected to have some performance hit. Currently Apple "dump" G3
