How much is the iPod touch 16GB in Langkawi? ...since it's w/o Tax!

is there any premier reseller in Langkawi?i guest only the clone old ipod that electronic shop sell..

I didn't see any places selling iPods in Langkawi. I guess because the iPod seems to be the only computer/IT item that's taxed, every other IT device is tax free.

ipod is not a computer item, its belong to audio/video hardware, that's why it's taxed

well guys? does somebody know the answer? We'll save about RM400 on 16GB ipod touch there. (direct convertion USD1=RM3.40).

Just came back from Langkawai on vacation. Did not see any Apple products there

Demm I tot of saving some money to buy there. Then no choice la, have to buy the taxed ipod lorr ..

Singapore is still cheaper

the Touch is the only ipod that's taxed at the moment. if you convert the rest of the ipod family (from USD), they aren't taxed

The touch has WiFi and touchscreen capabilities. that's why it's taxed like a PDA

how much selling locally? if without tax should be arn RM1500+

the cheapest place to get ipod touch now is HONG KONG (USD308.16). followed by US(USD313.95), and Canada (USD319.20) . all price inclusive of tax and conversion rate of date 14/09/07.

The lowest end iPod Nano for example is $149 mail order in the US, ~$160 after taxes in physical Apple Stores. At current exchange rates of RM3.40-3.45 per USD, it's still quite a bit cheaper to buy in the US no? I think the tax is there, it's cheaper only because the USD has fallen against the RM.

some shops offer freebies like earphones and pouches..i got a charging adapter.

ipod is not IT device but entertaiment device.

ipod 5th gen was charge with 22-30% entertainment tax, so wat do u tink? hahahah



malaysia here, computer stuff is import tax free, if i'm not mistaken
but, still hav V.A.T. and some other taxes

its called excise duty, currently around 10% or so...
