I didn't see any places selling iPods in Langkawi. I guess because the iPod seems to be the only computer/IT item that's taxed, every other IT device is tax free.

the Touch is the only ipod that's taxed at the moment. if you convert the rest of the ipod family (from USD), they aren't taxed
The touch has WiFi and touchscreen capabilities. that's why it's taxed like a PDA |

QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Oct 10 2007, 03:26 PM) the Touch is the only ipod that's taxed at the moment. if you convert the rest of the ipod family (from USD), they aren't taxed The lowest end iPod Nano for example is $149 mail order in the US, ~$160 after taxes in physical Apple Stores. At current exchange rates of RM3.40-3.45 per USD, it's still quite a bit cheaper to buy in the US no? I think the tax is there, it's cheaper only because the USD has fallen against the RM.The touch has WiFi and touchscreen capabilities. that's why it's taxed like a PDA |
