Automatic Gate, How much do you need to install one ?

Hi guys, need some advice. Installed my sliding gate (20') about 2.5 years ago. Put in a DC motor against the advice of my gate guy, who insisted that AC is more powerful and reliable.
Now the motor is making a lot of noise, and needs to be replaced. My gate guy is still suggesting I change it to AC, citing the same reasons of power and reliability. Any comments? |

Oh, u mean left open or close fully first then only right side moves? That's unusual.
