My friend's company recently launched their trackless folding gate with a patented mutli-track arm system and has been attending most of the home fairs this year -
recently in Melaka. They're a manufacturer in Kajang with a showroom at Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan right now. The last offer I heard them saying was like RM9,000 or something like that (retail price 12,000)
If you think that's crazy, my friend boasted to me that theirs can reach 80 feet (blink.gif <-- that's the look I gave him lol)
*
haha! WHoa! What company? 80ft both sides or 1 side? lol. If 1 side means 80+80? LOL. Thats insane..

Hi all, would like to get some advice from sifu here

1. Aluminum and Stainless steel, which is more durable ( Less maintenance needed)

2. Aluminum and Stainless steel, which is more suitable for trackless?

3. what are the advantages and disadvantages of using trackless system?

4. I was quoted 9k+ for a 15ft * 6ft Full aluminum trackless system with DC moto, is that reasonable? Petaling Jaya area

5. what are the advantages of using DC moto over other brands? Reason of this is because, choosing to use DC moto, top up is needed.

Thanks in advance
*
1. I think both is durable. Less maintenance i think both also similar.

2. Trackless means your gate cant be too long or heavy, i suggest go with Aluminium, its lighter. Stainless steel maybe if the frame and then inside is aluminium should be okay, full s/steel i think better not trackless, unless their hinges are top grade and 100% quality one.

3. I dont find any disadvantages to it, just that there will be a 3-4in gap at the bottom of the gate. Advantages is plenty, one of the main reasons is you wont get water retention at the base of the track (compared to tracked gate)

4. Hmm, if include DC moto how much? I have used DC moto for many years for swing gate, and i assure you its a trusted brand, only issue is its prone to lightning, and i have one place the board shorted about twice. but then its all okay now. xD

5. DC Moto is local brand, I have used it for quite some time now and in many houses, so far all is good and no complaints. Only for battery as sometimes their battery dies within 1 year. Or after a year. Not sure why that happens though.

Guys, do we need to 'service' our auto gate motor every now and then?

Mine already 4 years+ and I'm not sure if I need to call up someone to service it or somethin
*
Depends on what type of auto gate system it is. If its like the old one embedded to the ground better just change to newer technology, so many technologies out there which is cheap. xD 4 years+ and no problem should be thankful. Lol. As long as no problem should be okay bro.

DC Moto 925W now std set shld be ard RM1,780/= Autolock RM380/= and add bracket RM100/= total RM2,260/= so consider cheap lor. Anyway there is no 925AL model for very long time already. Now is only 925W model only and add autolock.

Another similar model will Dnor Turbo 880 black color cover. RM1,580/ add autolock and bracket for small pillar RM480/= total RM2,060/=

Make sure the contractor is an experience installer or will end up asking for advice after getting the set.

Thanks a lot for your guiding. But eventually the cylinder stopper is not long enough to stop. Any suggestion on that?

Both the open and close cylinder not reaching
*
Hi, is your problem solved? I dont think so its the stopper problem. Installer installed the arm bracket not long enough, probably did not measure it properly. IMO need to shift the arm bracket further out by 1" to adjust so that the black part cant be seen. sweat.gif

Saw few on Lazada for less than RM1.2K, the top few sellers.
*
Ya lo, I thought it was around RM1.2K-RM1.5k at most.. RM1.7k is a bit too expensive. Not sure if that includes labour charges? sweat.gif

RM1,700/= is not expensive but at reasonable price who are looking for professional installer with solution to their requirement. If prefer cheap then can get at Lazada or Shoppe then get ur neighbor to install end up without stopper to control the gate where u want it to stop like those grd system relaying on the center stopper and wall to stop.
*
So meaning the 1700 incl installation? sweat.gif

Hi bobowyc, yes eventually I solved my problem already.

I asked my installer to reinstall the bracket so that the black rubber wont be seen again by correct it to 64.5cm and reinstall the screw to correct position.

Viola, now the problem is solved and hopefully it last though.
*
Great! yup, required is 64.5cm. lol. probably installer was in a hurry? sweat.gif It will last because 64.5cm is their recommended length. I've installed a few and no complaints so far. The only complaint I had was motherboard spoil due to lightning strike, after that is okay already. sweat.gif shocking.gif

Thanks bobowyc!

Eventually I paid only RM200 to my neighbour to help me dismantle my old autogate and install this dcmoto. He eventually spend 4-5 hours to do it though.

But the down side is he refused to follow the guideline on the paper and install it by experience. So that's why the measurement is off from recommended and didn't install the screw accordingly.

You're installer as well? Any tips on the maintenance to make sure it last longer?
*
Oh. 4-5hrs is quite okay. Usually takes around half day. haha.

Lol. Better follow guidelines lo.. If no follow then get problem like this. Susah part is go back 2nd round for issues. that one super headache one.

Yes I am, but not so experienced la. lol still learning. haha. got do other things also. My house also using DC Moto. I think also got around 10 years. No issues so far. Only battery KO. But recently the Buzzer KO also lol and the photosensor for our column light. Maintenance wise I think not much, DC Moto quite maintenance friendly haha. So far experienced no issues with it except what I mentioned, but that could be wear and tear issue. We always use the gate to open one side. Everyday at least 6-8 times open and close one side. Open 2 sides also quite often, morning, afternoon and evening. No complaints so far. Now testing 3rd party wifi compatible with DC Moto. haha. Just ordered. Havent arrive yet. sweat.gif
