HI, Im looking for autogate system for folding gate recently. Initially I was looking at DCMoto, but then I saw another 2 brand name called Gmatic, also another brand name Weigand which is similar design with DCMoto. Anyone know what are the difference between them ?

Also does autolock(DCMoto) and  photobeam feature a must have? Need your advise. Thank you.
*
Firstly

Gmatic is not from DCMoto company, is more towards a clone but not 100% the same as DCMoto.

WeiGand is from DCMoto but is meant for different region dealers biggrin.gif

DCMoto or WeiGand is up to your choice, but of course DCMoto is primary brand for the company. Besides i'm been selling DCMoto product since 2001 and that is way back in those robotic screw driven arm push pull type which is first built back in 1999. DCMoto can say is kind of pioneer in auto gate system in Malaysia since 1999.

DCMoto auto lock function requires you to install photo beam to make it work. Depends on your car porch length. if is just being normal double storey terrace or even Semi D, auto lock function is pretty not important for your daily basis uses. Since opening and closing the gate won't take too long, you can wait for the gate to close then just drive off. since late 90's Italian auto gate system used to have Photo Beam for added safety when gate is in motion. But in Malaysia, hardly you'll be using it. Mostly photo beam is used in alarm system for boundary guard premises.

my autogate roller (left side) keep out of track. When i spray WD40, the roller will work for 1-2months, then will out of track again....

When i took the roller out, i see rust water coming out..

Any solution and price?
*
bro your internal bearing block is already kaput. No matter how many times you spray WD40 won't fix it. the roller bearing found in the centre (left and right) consist 4 bearings (2 bearings for the roller and 2 bearings for the block to turn the roller to the side. This require iron gate guy to replace it which requires grinding, welding and spray to avoid rust. Many owner presume is the roller not working well after 2 to 3 years but in actual fact, the internal block bearing is already rusted or worn out.

appreciate and thanks for your information on gmatic.

if photobeam is installed to use autolock, can the following each feature enable and disabled as per needs? or once photobeam is included all function will be enabled and can't disabled?
-safety beam
-auto close timer
-intruder alarm
*
Photo Beam function allows this feature available :
- auto close based on timer set 30 sec / 1 min / 2 min (can be set to ON /OFF)
- alarm armed / disarmed when someone cross the photo beam when gate is closed

There is no auto lock function, do you mean CHILD LOCK function? That Child Lock function can be use even without photo beam installed.

If your Photo Beam is faulty, you can still operate the gate by using two button combo for bypass Photo BEAM function.

16 feet sound like factory!
*
factory sliding gate easily goes beyond 18ft to 25ft. I have customer using double railing 32ft on DC Motor 24Volts at high speed.

More over my house is using straight sliding gate measuring 17 feet length and 6 feet high sweat.gif

May I know 925w without center lock,is it secure? I am considering this model too but not sure if the center lock is a must. I am in guarded resident. But I also do not wish the dooor too easy open by hand.

Thanks
*
Is optional item, theif can just climb up your fence if they wanted to enter your premises. Having centre lock just give an extra time for them not to break into your gate. GFM-925W has built-in solenoid locking on each side of the motor.

Is it true that auto gate also need battery? (Not for remote control)
*
That depends on how often you face power black-out and do you often going back home late night hoping the auto gate able to power up even there is black-out. Maintenance wise is around 1 -2 years for replacement.

Have heard this from my friend doing trackless folding gate too. But he says there are other factors involved, like material - stainless steel or aluminium.

From what he's told me, aluminium is lighter and cheaper, but easier to bend. Then for stainless steel, much sturdier but more costly. Anyway, from my own reading online, articles have said it depends on the actual mixture of components which define the compounds strength.
*
there is a reason why trackless bi-fold gate usually use material such as aluminum due to lightweight compared with wrought iron, metal or stainless steel. Trackless means that there is nothing to hold on to the gate in the center part and relied on your each pillar for gate support. If you're using heavier gate material such as wrought iron, stainless steel, metal. The gate will eventually sagged as time goes by.

The strongest metal material for gate has to be wrought iron as the sides of the metal is ribbed for enchanced rigidity and thickness should be 1.6mm for gate length anywhere below 20 feet. Above 20 feet I'll recommend getting 1.9mm and above for rigidity improvement.

Only decide to use stainless steel if you worry about rust, but bare one thing in mind. Stainless steel tube style is lighter than normal iron gate due to the thickness around 1.0mm to 1.2mm hardly you'll find 1.5mm these days due to metal cost rising.

In terms of reliability, metal material is far better than aluminum. Aluminum once bent or crack you can't repair it other than replacing that part. Unlike metal counterpart where you'll able to hammer it close to original shape and even spot wielding.

Yes, my counsin is having the folding type of gate. Mexigate is a manufacturer.

Bro, there is not many factories in Malaysia, manufacturing auto gate system.

There is plenty of OEM branding for each manufacturer to cater vast dealers in Malaysia. There is been a few imported from China too as the labour cost and material is very much cheaper.

Any recommended contractors area BM/Alma area? Google point me to Chin Beng and Sun Auto Gate. Are they any good?
*
Firstly you'll need masonry contractor to demolish your side wall and have concrete slab for walkway before you can decide to use a bi-fold gate system. If possible go to the max length just before the electrical lamp post.

For those 12V DC SLA batteries sold at shelf doesn't carry warranty at all due to the price they sell at low. If the battery fails within months, you're at lost. You pay extra from installers, usually carry personal warranty with 1 to 1 replacement within 6 months.

if can purchase direct. maybe can save some around rm200-300. i guess.
only the after sale matters, how do entertain warranty issues. if purchase from installer, straight away we can issue later complaint to them (installer). they will be the one who deal with manufacture.

i heard weigand is same factory with dcmoto? is the price bit more expensive? and can fit same accessories?
*
Purchasing from direct manufacture might be cheaper or else more expensive to protect their dealers. When you purchase from manufacture, finding installers to service your motor might be harder since it's not installed by them.

WeiGand is a OEM branding for regional dealers from DC Moto. DC Moto is their primary branding.

Hi All, need some help, Casa Asia 320H broken planetary gear after solid 9 years usage, any idea where to get spare part in PJ or Muar area? Thank you very much.

Issues after years of usage that I have DIY fixed. A good product start with a good installation, issues #1-4 are not product related.
1. Under VA transformer, spec require 50VA but install 32VA. Gate open/close slow due to voltage drop. Installer lack of knowledge.
2. Repeatedly drill holes (4 screws, 8 holes!) on outdoor enclosure but never seal. Rain & dirt get into back of controller board and control go crazy. Installer workmanship issue.
3. Use non rust resist screw to attach slider rail to gate, slider rail detach and fall off. Installer workmanship issue.
4. Wiring connector block burn. Poor wiring joint plus wiring cover not properly seal, oxidation and heat at wiring joint lead to high resistance and burn. Installer workmanship issue.
5. Solenoid lock malfunction. Tear and wear.
6. Remote control receiver intermittent malfunction. Tear and wear.
7. Planetary gear broken. Tear and wear.

I recommend purchasing a whole new gear box is better than just replacing those gear. Since there is damage on the gear, afraid the housing gear is damage too.

What is the pros & cons of stainless steel vs aluminium ?
*
Stainless steel

Pros : rust free, lighter than wrought iron gate (the tubes are thinner than iron gate), almost zero maintain-ace

Cons : expensive is the first thing pops in your mind, require polish or cleaning when the stainless steel looks not shinning

Aluminium

Pros : the lightest gate you can get, rust free

Cons : once dent, is hard to get back in shape and chances is aluminum "tears", exposing to acidic area can cause the aluminum to corrode

ok.. can call  for sight visit and requesting for quotation right.
i really think it's the motherboard now. even if it's a motherboard, my jackpro is already like 12 yrs old . if i change mother board only later other things will give way as well. one of the issue i have is the weight of the wrought iron . the hinge of the gate also had done welding before. the heavy weight probably gave a lot of pressure to the arm i suspect .
having your expertise for consultation will be good. i will whatapps u next week ok.
thanks for your assistance.
*
If your JackPro has been 12 years old, is your one side motor has worn out carbon brush. Only solution is to replace that one side motor. Is not the motherboard (technically) if the motor carbon brush worn out, the motherboard will cut off supply (high current discharge protection).

Judging from your JackPro is been 12 years old. Your best solution is to replace a whole new system which is much more worthy choice. You get a whole new system with one year warranty and probably you get another usage of 10 years (maybe).

Common setting for No 1 is to open either side of the programmed to function single leaf operation. while the other button is meant to open both side.

Nowadays remote comes with 4 button allowing you to operate both side, individual side and operating your pillar/car porch light.

Using DC Moto auto gate. Today my gate open and close super slowly. My indoor keypad blink red.

So the receiver box’s battery is flat? I tot that the battery is always being charged by the connected elctrial current to house’s electricity.

Fyi, it been like 5yrs since i do anything to the autogate system
*
DC Moto 905 / 925 relied on power supply to retain its memory of speed configuration. they do not have eeprom memory built in. Once there is no power source be it house electric supply or even backup battery, once power resume the system will reset itself and go into "calibration mode" for the first operation. Battery shelf life have around 12 - 24 months.

i got this control board, good or not? seem like cant set limits on gate opener
*
This is commonly use NX-12 control panel. Is good cause there is a built in remote control receiver to support 2 or 4 channel. The limit of the gate opening is bound by the motor able to travel how far not by control panel. the control panel only able to set the current limit (motor limit force) before it cuts off.
