Any tyre recommendation for CRV 2018 model?
Also original tyre size is 235/65R17 but tyre shop said no stock and suggesting 225/65R17. Is it okay to change tyre size? Still sing stock RIM btw.

Michelin Primacy SUV should hve size.
If not, you can ask the shop to order for you and fit once arrived. |

No, please no! tire shop is not engineer which define the tire size. If they dont have stock just order it or venture to other shop, brands or models.
Damn hate tire shop which always try to push their own tire stock without considering owners vehicle specification. This post has been edited by littlefire: Aug 22 2022, 11:38 AM |

Continental UC6 SUV 235/65R17 488 Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 235/65R17 435 Michelin Primacy SUV 235/65R17 (SUV PLUS) 660 UC6 SUV seems like a good option here. |

My tyres are 205/55R17, and it is very very rare to find it in here in Malaysia. Most of the people in the car group just upgraded to a bigger and common 215/55R17. Price seems cheaper too as it is more common.based on my price table there are 3 options. There is no rare, only tire shop did not want to order & keep pushing owner to accept their available stock tires. Any suggestion if I do that? If you ask the correct shop or main tire distributor, most of it will advise you to stick with original size and help order for you. Besides that, with bigger wider tires you might loss even more in long run due to higher fuel consumption, even tho you bought it cheap when new. |

I found only one site which says they have Dunlop DO5 here, might worth to check out.Any suggestion if I do that? Technically it is possible to upgrade to 215/55R17, but you will need to be aware about your speedometer as you now have 10mm+ more outer diameter + you need to have the extra 10mm spacing. Upside is that you should get a wider footprint which will help in wet braking but a higher sidewall which will help in comfort. Not too bad from my opinion.... The car now is really noisy an uncomfortable, even my unsuspecting passenger complain after getting out from the car, they all mentioned that the car made them dizzy after a short ride. I think partially is because of the thin profile tyres that contributes it. But the upside is, the car accelerations are awesome, so much fun driving this punchy little car.Technically it is possible to upgrade to 215/55R17, but you will need to be aware about your speedometer as you now have 10mm+ more outer diameter + you need to have the extra 10mm spacing. Please check your suspension system like absorbers & lower arm bush, weak suspension also will cause the ride not comfortable. |

QUOTE(weiheng @ Aug 22 2022, 11:31 AM) Any tyre recommendation for CRV 2018 model? Can but not ideal, cuz the tire sidewall height is 0.65cm lesser, meaning your car ground clearance will drop by 0.65cm and the overall diameter is about 1.3cm smaller. In terms of driving feel, the comfort level should be lesser or noticeably firmer ride quality due to lesser sidewall height. Also original tyre size is 235/65R17 but tyre shop said no stock and suggesting 225/65R17. Is it okay to change tyre size? Still sing stock RIM btw. I think the shop simply said that cuz they don't have the size in stock so better find other shops. |
