my experience from installing soundproof on my perodua alza 2010:

spent about rm3.5k but just slight improvement. so don't bother, not worth the money.

If you want better soundproof go for other car brand

where did u do the soundproofing?

and what did they use to soundproof

3.5k is too much just for a slight improvement blink.gif

i did soundproofing before with a measurable improvement but it did not cost much

Don't bother
Sound proofing your car may be able to bring down a few db, but is not significant. With the amount of money you spend, not worth it.
You won't be able to change the structure and the built if the car to get good nvh.

It really want quiet, change car or get one of this. No joke

Of course it will work. Try stripping merc and bmws and you will soon realise that "quietness" is simply all just sound proofing...

There are lots and lots of ways to make your car quiet.

It's actually cheap if you diy. The bulk of cost comes from labour, not materials. It's tedious to rip out all the panels and assble them back.

I know because I did the reverse for my bmw back then. To me, all the sound proofing is simply dead weight.

I accompanied my ex-colleague a few years ago to a Puchong car accessories shop where he installed SIKA brand Sika Damp 610.

Does it work? Yes for sure. His Myvi was slightly quieter while driving and it rained on the day he installed it and inside the car, the heavy raindrops were a bit muffled compared to standard.

Please take note that this soundproofing job is a whole day's work. The installer has to remove the seats, carpeting, roof panel, door panels, etc... then when applying the Sika Damp material, the installer had to use a heat gun and also a roller.

Unfortunately, that particular Puchong car accessories shop has closed down during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sorry bro. I'm not sure of the weight but when the installer was doing it, the material seem light enough.

Do not use ear plugs. People horn you cannot hear, end up accident!
