Prob'ly they re minimizing the battery consumption.
I don't think they need lights on the buttons..
But I think they do need it on buttons below the LCD screen like volume, home, brightness, select and start buttons.

It's only the L and R button.. and you can't press it ? If a blind person can walk around the streets of Brickfield this should be a walk in a park for them..

I can play any PC games without looking at the keyboard anymore once you get used to the buttons..

Mods FTW !! >_<"

actually if u happen to own a psp, it became a part of ur body. I am sure u can bath even without light, so i dont see why there will be a problem in locating all the buttons especially wif some help from the LCD screen brightness. Same thing apply to sex too, u can do it in the dark rite? tongue.gif

Its pretty much same as asking why don't they place lights on console controllers or even light on the button on standard keyboards. The answer is we already know it at heart by experience. The reason was simply placing lights on the PSP increase power consumption and decrease battery life. Most people also find it already annoying that Sony placed the LED for the memory stick as the reading/writing process will cause the LED to keep flashing and cause annoyance to some.

yup, its even smarter for sony to put the WLAN and MS led
on the lower left so that our palm cover the irritating blinking led.
