Mine is an eight-year old (year 2014) HP Pavilion desktop PC with 8GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti. How about yours? |

Processor - 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
RAM - 4 gigabyte (GB). Storage - 64 GB or larger storage device Note: See below under “More information on storage space to keep Windows 11 up-to-date” for more details. System firmware - UEFI, Secure Boot capable. Check here for information on how your PC might be able to meet this requirement. TPM - Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. Check here for instructions on how your PC might be enabled to meet this requirement. Graphics card - Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver. Display - High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per color channel. |

Not 8th gen CPUs?
I have many 4th gen desktops and laptops at home but the majority are still on W7 or W10 depending on specs. Wanted to try W11 but the requirements are simply too much as I don't plan to throw out any old machines. |

What advantage does win11 have that you're rushing to install it?

QUOTE(raynman @ Aug 17 2022, 04:03 PM) Ok win11 isnt new.Win 10 isnt obsolete. So. Again. What advantages does win11 have over win10? Im on win10 now . If it isnt obsolete, why should I upgrade? Unless win11 has advantages, of which you still havent listed out after 2 or 3 exchanges . |

Not as old as raynman's but it's the oldest I have. Win10 Lenovo laptop (i7 7700HQ, TPM 2.0) Upgraded to Win11 using the registry method (processor not supported.)
Running OK so far. I like Win11 so much better than Win10. I'm a Mac user. This post has been edited by soonwai: Aug 17 2022, 04:49 PM |

You can choose to stay with Windows 10 if you are comfortable with it. |
