The truth is definitely somewhere in between, my main issue with potter now is he remains undecided on kicking the rebuild into full gear. There's clear proof that the seniors have been the main culprit for our awful and erratic form for some time, but he's refused to rely more on players like lewis hall, carney, and hutchinson.
Previously there were hints he was gonna blood them, but now he's reverted back to the usual reliance on senior players, which is disappointing. In addition to getting a 'mini preseason' with the world cup break which lasted more than a month, you'd think he'd have a good idea of how to utilise these guys, with better patterns of play at the very LEAST.
I was looking forward to more minutes for our young talents, but what we got instead was a downright shocking performance from the usual suspects, much worse than the beginning of potter's reign. Some players genuinely look like they're not buying into his philosophy and that's bad news for him imo. In the beginning they were all pressing in unison and showing fight, but alarmingly many of them now look content with jogging around the pitch.
If potter continues to turn a blind eye to this, he won't last long imo. The players are now doing to potter what they did to tuchel, at an accelerated rate. I can only hope he sees this sooner rather than later, but he's certainly not helping himself atm.
