I am meeting an important client and his name is Abdul Malik. How do I correctly address his name? Should I call him Mr Abdul or Mr Malik?

Abdul means hamba. Some people don't like to be called that.

in Malaysia, address someone by his/her own name, not by his/her dad's name.

own name BIN dad's name
own name BINTI dad's name
own name A/L dad's name
own name A/P dad's name
own name S/O dad's name
own name D/O dad's name

if can't be certain which part of his name is own name and which part is dad's name, ASK the person himself.

Offer him your name by which he may address you, then ask how should he call you, Mr. Abdul Malik, or Mr. Malik, or.... By then he would likely say "no need so formal, just ...... is fine". Offer him your first name, you get a casual start.

Why don't you ask him? First time meeting usually address as Mr Abdul Malik. Then you can ask in which manner he prefers to be addressed. Usually it's Malik though.
