Hi, i recently subcribe Astro Fiber 500mbps but never get 500mbps. Max can i get is 450mbps which is over 80% of the speed.

My wifi can connect for wifi 5 (800mbps) i have search that wifi is half duplex so 400mbps is good as far as i know.

i tried to connect with LAN direct with PC but only connected at 100mb (my router and network card is gigabit) using cat 5e cable

how to get 1gb? using cat 6 will help or not?

one more, how to access modem from astro fiber (maybe TM unifi modem)

thank

Use a new Ethernet cable, preferably CAT6 or CAT7

Try connecting your PC/laptop directly to the modem using Ethernet & enter the router IP on a webpage - can refer the IP address from the back of the device.

Those settings were configured in the router not the modem

u need to assign your own ip 1st & very likely the modem dhcp is not enabled.

very obvious you're not expert in all these & better u google more or leave them alone.

Wireless being half duplex has nothing to do with its effective speed. All its final transfer rate is already taken transmission nature into account.

Hmm, I think Astro fibre used the TM infrastructure as well. TM infrastructure implements Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet(PPPoE) which came with a username or password like username@unifi to do authentication.

Do we have a official thread for Astro fibre server?

open cmd type ipconfig and then enter. Take a look at default gateway ( make sure u are connected via wifi or lan to the router). Thats the ip u enter to get into the router interface to change wifi settings. Now u need the password which be from technician or the router box, depending on brands and modification of ISP .

The free router from Astro looks super cheap.

Just wondering if the LAN ports on the router are just fast ethernet aka 100Mbps.

Anyways, the PPPoE credentials should configured the router rather than the modem if it is like other ISP on TM's network .

Starting this month, newly registered Astro Fibre customers will be provided with a self-branded router called the RG21. The new device is taking over the role of the Huawei OptiXstar K562e as the service’s default router moving forward.
