Need to get opinion on home gym. I'm looking to build a squat rack in my room, budget around 3.5k. Currently saw these two. Any inputs will be appreciated! Thank you.

I will be doing bench, squat and deadlift. Do I need a powerlift barbell or just an utility affordable barbell will do? I'm a beginner and I lift around 80kg only.

This one seems well rounded and if include mats it's RM4K.

This one plates up to 120kg but lacking accessories and floor mat too.

With not much difference in design.

I would prefer the plates from Stateel, similar to tri grip plates, easier to handle and use it for plate only workouts.

The rack built itself looks more sturdy and solid from Strength Supply, olympic barbell is a plus. Will go for this taking into consideration the pricing.

If between the 2, i'd go for the offering from strength supply.

The rack's safety/support looks more solid than stateel

you can also try contact savage gear to see if they have better offerings (or google their website). usually they'll have a proper power rack package for about the price last i remembered

Do you think with floor matts, this setup can be suitable for a condo unit? (Even for deadlifts?)

Also, another gripe I have with home gym setups is safety. As much as I want to workout without people, with people around it's also safer in case mishap happens rclxub.gif

Yeah, it seems viable. check this singaporean training in HDB flat video timestamp 1:40 and 3:20.

Floor mat can get epdm 25mm thickness. You can also get crash cushion pads / deadlift sling rack if you want total silence + flooring.

I am still deciding whether to order the epdm floor mats while waiting for my squat rack to arrive. Shoppee has a few seller selling those.

For safety, I rely on the spotter's arm. So my initial requirement is either a squat rack/squat stand with spotter. No compromise on that.

i ll suggest try get the interlock type 25mm... mine is not interlock so sometimes it gets detached although its heavy.... and yea u should get it prior to ur rack setup so you can floor plan it properly especially on tight budget.
