When I was young, I thought that people in developed country enjoy a high standard of living, almost everyone living comfortably.
Now I see developed countries got lots of druggies and homeless folk, people that are struggling to put food on the table, just the same like other developing countries like Malaysia and Thailand. So what is the difference between developed and developing countries? Doesn't seem like people in developed countries even have a better standard of living. There are a few countries that do indeed have a high standard of living (eg. Nordic countries) but other than that, it seems like the same.
What is the difference between developed and developing countries?
Most commonly, the criteria for evaluating the degree of economic development are gross domestic product (GDP), gross national product (GNP), the per capita income, level of industrialization, amount of widespread infrastructure and general standard of living.[5] Which criteria are to be used and which countries can be classified as being developed are subjects of debate. A point of reference of US$20,000 in 2021 USD nominal GDP per capita for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is a good point of departure, it is a similar level of development to the United States in 1960.[6]
The constantly changing official definitions aside, the most popular view of a developed country is that the public infrastructure is good, strong social welfare net from govt, and "rich". But a lot of rich/developed countries come with late stage capitalism....and that comes with issues like high cost of living relative to purchasing power, and stagnant socio-economic mobility. Not sure about nordic countries......they are often reported as modern day paradises in media, but you have to stay there to know their reality

I think if that's the case you better off staying in Malaysia. You have a better chance of achieving that goal in Malaysia than in most other countries including developed countries.
