Dear Ktard,

Need some advised. Anyone here travel to India before? Any advised for first timer on what should I take note when travelling there. My family member told me to get a jab to increase antibody. Is it necessary?

1. always buy mineral water. don't drink their water
2. if possible, dont eat meat, just veg. try your best to reduce meat cause you don't know how much bacteria it is there
3. bring enough cash but of course protect it well
4. always stay in GOOD HOTELS. you will regret staying in cheap hotels. this one you cannot save.

some hotels don't have toilet papers, no bed sheet, pillow has stains, you get the picture.

Not your best advisor on the subject. Am sure there are other k/tards with more life experience.

My first time to India was the CNY just before covid, to Jaipur for a week. Didn’t take any jab for whateva.

Went solo. Stayed in a nice Airbnb. Last nite in mid class hotel. Kiasi dare not touch street food. Only makan in palaces 😉😁. No tummy issues. E-hailing was my best friend.

Got lahhh nice hotels. I oso can’t afford. Former palaces. Went there only to makan. Service and quality kalah Datai and other 6 stars hotels in MYS.

You are right. Outside Palace gates, got cow, cow shit everywhere 😂

Roadside, I kiasi sangat, dare not try.

Carried a whole bag of charcoal tablets, Po Chai pills but never used.

Watch what you eat and who you trust there, other than that, it's a nice country to visit.

Visited golden triangle, kashmir and ladakh (mostly love northern india cos i am a sucker for mountains)

You should just check with your doctor instead of random strangers online.

i studied medicine in India years ago...

You will likely have diarrhea in the 1st week of travelling there if you are not careful on what you eat...

To reduce likeliness of having this problem, drink bottled water, eat fully cooked food...

Been to India more than 10 times. Never had diarrhea, except once when staying at a friend's place. There was power failure from morning till evening one day, and the mutton in the fridge probably turned bad. Unaware and ate it and bingo.

Btw, Malaysians are no longer eligible for e-visa and must get sticker visa which is more expensive and more time consuming.
