Hi I'm back. And now with another problem. Yesterday my car started to make metallic clunking noise coming from either the front or back of the left side of my car - yesterday I swear it's from the rear but today, the noise is all coming from the front left. It also happens on and off. But it'll surely happen when I go over uneven road (speedbump, potholes, small road bumps etc).

Also extra question, I'm new to, yknow, taking care of a car. And apprently going to check your car at a Perodua Service Centre actually costs you money? I thought my car is under warranty. Sorry noob question cuz I am noob.
*
under warranty wont get charged. just make full use complain whatever problems you have..

the only cost is your time to send the car to SC for inspection...

Any thoughts on adding this to the car?
Anyone’s done it to theirs ?
btw I meant this under engine/carriage shield cover .
*
Depends on your usage.

Its not necessarily an advantage or disadvantage. Both also got. But imho its more disadvantageous than advantageous..

Main concern is regarding any leaks will be hard to spot it.. Later oil leak until kosong baru you notice then gg

Hi WTA if the injector cleaner is really useful and good to do every time service the car? or better DIY since it is just pour into the fuel tank directly..
*
Not useful. Snake oil.

Especially for new car.

Perodua SC like to push these 3 bullshit punya:
- injector cleaner
- throttle body cleaner
- magnet trap

rattling sound from my car even driving at low speed 20-30 km/h all the time - quite annoying and just got car on saturday..now checking with my SA to see if can get appointment booked to check the car this week.

https://soundcloud.com/phoenix-nexus-437362691/car-sound-1

Sound can only be heard clearly with your phone volume at highest + phone near your ears..its quite consistent the rattling / tap tap tap sound.

Not sure if anyone faced such issue before and what was the cause/fix?
*
Cant really hear it. I cant differentiate it between the road noise..

anyway just make appointment with SC to get it checked..

If the rattling not so serious/annoying can wait till your 1k inspection.. then complain about it together during 1k inspection, so that you dont have to go to SC twice..

But if you cannot tahan it then just make appointment with SC to get it sorted asap..

btw is there any way to completely turn off the head lights (AV model) ? Not auto, but imagine in a dark area, but you dont want ANY lights turned on in your car while your ignition and/or engine is ON?

I couldn't figure that out somehow even after reading the manual - maybe I just didnt understand how it works or missing some setting somewhere?
*
cant do that unfortunately, no OFF for the light stalk

i saw some owners go and change to ativa light stalks which have the off option..

agghh that's annoying. i think actually can off after I read again - have to turn the stalk to the position number 2 in the image. Will try it tonight/tomorrow. It is confusing from usability perspective if that's really how to turn off the headlight...

user posted image
*
no that is not fully OFF.. That is the light stalk step #1 in normal/older cars.

So the positioning/clearance lights, tail lights and num plate lights will still be ON

yeah not fully off like traditional cars but just headlights off at least right? tail lights & license plate lights still on - i think still OK lah if thats the case...but really weird cannot fully OFF - waste battery only sad.gif
*
no la, car engine will be running so wont eat battery, no worry..
yes headlights will be off, everything else is still on. the clearance lights looks like DRL anyway..

the only issue with it is if you idle a lot in shopping/office car parks.. but other than that i dont see how it will be an issue.

unless... you want to projek in the car la laugh.gif laugh.gif
then that one no choice have to swap with ativa stalks laugh.gif laugh.gif

how do you guys manage your first 1000 km for this car? manual says to vary your speed - do you guys do the same for your RPM too and how you tahan for first 1000 km do that? I find it quite challenging cos dont feel like i'm driving my car normally  hahahaha

user posted image
*
vary the speed. if you drive in city with mix of highway no worry, speed for sure varies..

dont do constant 90km/h on highway for the first 1000 km

My 2022 Alza X bought 62.5K, Perodua quoted insurance renewal for 2025/6 mkt value 56.4K. That's a drop of 6.1K or 9.76% depreciation over 3 years. 🤔

Should I sell it and get a new Alza every 3 years?
*
Cause of the waiting period lor laugh.gif
+combo with Perodua brand = Ultimate resale value

You sell your Alza now, need wait 8 months+ for your replacement Alza to come whistling.gif

My 2023 Alza AV 75.5k new, just renewed insurance sum insured 70k.. 2 years old car depreciate by 5.5k or 7.2%..

Kinda crazy tbh, dont know how long it will last.. 75k brand new virgin vs 70k 2 years old janda..
I also cant fathom whether 2nd hand market demand out there really got that strong or not..

Oh well, that's one thing syok about owning Peroduas..
My 2019 MG3, 6 and 1/2 years old depreciated by about 30%.. If other brands 6 years old car i think depreciated by about 40%~

Thank you for using our free Vehicle Market Value service. You may review your report below:
NVIC K4X22F
Vehicle Description 2022 PERODUA ALZA X 4D WAGON MY22 4 SP AUTOMATIC CONSTANTLY VARIABLE INLINE 4 1496 cc
Market Value RM55,300.00
Valuation Date 22/07/2025

quote higher d. ini baru official market valuation. earn some rezeki.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Jul 22 2025, 09:12 AM)
Damn.. P2 must have quoted me AV variant 😠
*
the sum insured higher by 1k only, that doesn't change the premium much. impossible is AV variant.

also that is just purely insurance valuation of the market value only.. Might not reflect the actual valuation of your car. It's just a guideline.
actual market value could be higher or lower depending on your own factors like mileage/maintenance/etcetc..

for example lah, my MG3 2019, insurance valuation is 36k.. But carsome selling for 45k.. I never enquired how much they willing to buy my car before but im guessing will be around 38k.. Im confident if i direct sell to buyer, i can sell for around 40k because my MG3 is low mileage and have full record SC maintenance even after warranty ended.

btw did you guys have any issues with RFID on some tolls? I kena at Plaza Toll Puchong Selatan:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/8Q1xoC1H3y8JAGvU6

Going from Bandar Puteri -> Cyberjaya RFID ok
From Cyberjaya to Bandar Puteri (hit same toll) - NOT OK - error shown is tag tak sah or something like that...kena twice already...I try sunway toll last week - OK...

any idea why or any way to fix?
*
RFID is memang stupid. Dont need waste time on it. I dont even bother to activate and bind the RFID to my tng account.

I use back my old smart tag. I wish Alza had the toll reader just like in MG3.
That MG3 toll reader is so bloody good and convenient. Way better than smart tag itself..

Does installing engine bottom cover and rear anti crash bar void the warranty?
*
engine cover no.. rear anti crash bar if dont touch/modify any of the existing setup (i.e. its just an add-on) then no also.

anyone tried playing around with pressing brake at different pressures (light VS firm) while eco idle is on to see if the eco idle shuts off the engine or not? read somewhere if dont press firmly (ex stop at toll booth) it wont stop the engine even with eco idle on.
*
yes, if light press and able to stop the car from moving.. usually it wont trigger auto start stop.. when press deeper then it will..

if you using the eco idle maybe this useful trick for you to better control when eco idle kicks in according to your wish.

but for me idgaf bout this, always turned it OFF. then when battery low detected by system, auto permanent off rclxms.gif Even change to new battery will still remain OFF.

hii. any recommendations for after market seat cover? intend to install Alza H for water proof purpose

i understood the seat front seats are equipped with airbags, hence any issues if i were to install seat cover?
*
You seen the Perodua gear up ones? Those seems not bad.

And im guessing the gear up seat covers would have best fitting and wouldn't kacau airbags as well

hi guys want to check with you - when you first bought your alza, does it ever appear on NCD checking sites like myeg, Fincrew (https://www.fincrew.my/en/ncd-checker.html) etc?

Mine doesnt show up and according to my SA (i'm on generalli insurance) its because i'm buying through perodua - total protect plus. Even the cover note is from perodua not from generalli, etc.

Is this normal? 1st time buying car with this inside, last time always able to check because never bought car that has this kind of service built-in (at least for 1st year).
*
If you have existing NCD for cars under your name, you can transfer it over to the new Alza. So that your Alza will enjoy the NCD instead..

Did you inform your Sales Advisor about your pre-existing NCD you want to transfer over? Normally they will handle the NCD transfer before purchasing the new insurance for the Alza..

Contact your old/new insurer to find out how to do it..

Anyway, check your NCD here: https://www.mycarinfo.com.my/NCDCheck/Online

If it shows 0%, means your NCD wasn't transferred over and is still with the other car..
