When I picked up the car, the salesman directly told me (when showing the feature) don't bother to use smartlink, just connect HDMI is more reliable.
*
Ya.. i uninstalled the smartlink app.. there are some features but not useful for me personally. Rather have my phone on holder better.

hello alza driver

how is the seat comfort? paultan video review says the seat is quite small and not much support above the shoulder
*
my height 164.. front seats are okay. Taller ppl not sure.

the rear seats are shorter. not so supportive on shoulders, need to move the headrest up for your head.

try go to showroom (if showcar avail) and try it.

wow.. installing to your new alza?

I have not tried this before as my previous 12yo alza does not have this, so dont think having it.

I personally think good protection from ground stones but not sure about heat disperse effectiveness.
Also, if in future any leaking (if there is), you might not notice this on the floor (oil patch or coolant patch as example) at your garage floor.

Still considering, cannot tahan the hugh gap in the engine bay, scared stray cats climb in give birth,  snakes, etc LOL

The company website got show heat dispersion.. Also Hot air rise upwards they said..

Im lucky all my Perodua vehicles since 1997 no leaks due to strict maintenance, hopefully continue luck la
*
I do understand about strays cats etc, your existing Alza has faced this issue?

Looking at the other members inputs, it would be down to you to decide if worth it. for me right now, I would keep as it is on my end. Focusing more on other stuffs.

I did:
1. 'stage 1' outer layer soundproof on all doors.
2. changed speakers and installed my existing underseat sub.
3. installed front+rear cam

4. future - add soundproof on rear floor

issue:
1. yikyik yek yer on front doors - door rubber 'gosok' with door panel. kinda sorted out by 'wrapping' the painted panel that rubber touches.

heat rise up yes. tapi we need cold air to enter as well.
otherwise this section become vacuum or less pressure
worse ventilation
*
yes.. heat rise... but not sure it will 'block' air flow where heat need to go off easier.
unless the company did a temperature test before and after on the engine bay.

I am not expert here.. i think leave it open as my 12 year old alza does not have it.

Hi

Anyone feel the driver left knee leg room space is very small,
My left knee hit something when test drive.

Anyway to fix it?
*
So far okay for me as I am not that tall. only 164cm tall. It is smaller that the old alza as old alza has no center row panel.

I only rest my left knee on the center panel..

You are H or AV?

I saw someone comment AV more hurt due to H&X more space, dunno true or not.

Thanks for the feedback.
*
mine is H.

The AV version in showroom back then, i did not notice any different in size of the center console except:
1. AV has no front small storage space / lubang in front of the gear level.
2, AV has side storage and the usb plug is on the side.
3. AV's panel at the start/off button is gloss surface.
4. has extra button for brake hold and electronic hand brake. H/X manual handbrake.
5. AV - the center hand rest has leather top on the cover, socket inside the storage box instead outside in H

But again, when i look at overall, the size should be the same. I believed so, when have longer legs, you might knock on the center corner when trying to open the leg wider.

Just got my alza, H variant silver, is there any seat cover other than gearup?
When i first get the car i need to push up the gear lever to start the car as it detected not in P... it was several times until not need to do that already.. not sure it is a issue or not.
The car steering is very light in low speed. Heavy in high speed. The head light there is no way to switch off only to auto which rely on sensor to activate and deactivate the light which is a bit annoying so i just switch to dim light.
*
Leather seats I am not sure too. Using the standard seat. Maybe some who has changed it may able to provide suggestion.

On the gear level, mine is okay, no such issue. you can get SC to fix during your 1k inspection. Maybe just minor adjustment needed.

Light, no other choice as well, just change to dim light. Good and bad. Good for those who does not switch on light at night & in basement.

I did not get this hood isulator nor vibratiles.

I bought the 3M soundproof mat or sheet and diy on 5 doors, rear floors, rear sides. which is cheaper.

the hood isulator personally think not helping much. I rather put this 3M mat on hood (which I did on my Axia).

i booked H, but thinking of getting X coz i prefer simple not much tech on the steering wheel

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Feb 10 2023, 10:55 AM)
I got H for one simple reason - reverse camera. Audio-tainment system/touchscreen isn't great for that purpose, but the reverse camera is so useful.

Steering wheel buttons can be ignored right? I hardly use them (though my wife does audio control often in my observation when she's driving).
*
I had the H, same goes to my brother's H spec too. Coming from previous Alza, the steering control buttons works as needed, nothing fancy. AV has a few more buttons for auto cruise etc.

Which Specs, all depends on your needs as well as pocket. H is just nice in between although BSM is a good extra too for safety.

@WhiskeyTango777, best to read thru the manual (in PDF copy) and get used to the car.

Estimated how long you waited bro
*
I got it last year.. waiting time 2.5+months with trade in.

My sales person said during our ordering, AV has many orders and afraid will be long wait. H is just ngam for me coming from previous alza. I open for silver and brown.

For starter, alza is a compact and budget mpv not even a full sized mpv. That said, it’s also not designed to be driven fast and furious on highway. There are of course better and bigger mpvs should one prefer to drive at a higher speed on highway. Better be safe than sorry.
*
Yup, totally agree with you.

Alza is a small size mpv if want to call that. This car meant for a purpose. Some may think that getting a vios but alza has the space which most would agree with.

Speed kills and drive carefully as your life worth a lot same goes to the passengers in the car.

Nowadays kind of hard to drive on hiways where the not fast will stay on mid lanes and super fast on fast lane. Cutting out to overtake a 90ish stuck in mid lane is hard.

Just becareful.

Only option is to take the left lane when it’s clear and slowly overtake the 90 ish car in the mid lane then get back to mid lane.

Fast lane is risky as most of the time speed demons are occupying it and they can barely wait for others lol. Worst risk is when they crash into u when u are still in the midst of overtaking. Not worth the risk.

Alza can be quite sluggish when fully loaded and during overtaking at around 100km/h.
*
I do understand what you mean.. just that if i am following the legal speed ++ a bit for overtaking... by the time we about to overtake, the fast lane has super fast car coming..
so ended up have to brake/slowdown to the 90-100kph in mid lane.

Sometimes, no choice but to overtake from the left as there is no lorry nor cars.

Anyways, how the "fish sellers" drive on mid lane with slow speed.. it is speachless for me. Just drive safe, no other choice. :>

Salesman say... they will say what is needed of course. Maybe true, maybe not, it doesn't really matter to us right? So far no indication that Perodua is producing slower than their target (3k a month for Alza was what was announced earlier when it was launched).
Which highways ya'll driving that middle lane is 90ish and right lane is speed demon? My North-South experience is that mid lane is mostly 100-110 (except hill climbing or when those lorries decide to overtake the left lane), and if you're at 120/130 you can just stay in the right lane, just cut to left to allow the sports car (or myvi) to pass when they come.
*
A lot on KL-Seremban stretch. At 110kph many on mid lane with slow speed, where bogged up many other users behind. The super duper fast are way above 140kph..
At the 90kph stretch, they will drive like 80..can see lorry overtake them at 90.. when it comes to the speedcamera near kajang exit, the mid lane goes like 70.. even the fast lane !!!! if you are lucky, you might be able to over take them at 90 there. hehehe.

Anyway, I have side track the topics for this thread.. let's go back to Alza topics. bruce.gif

Exactly, happened quite a few times whereby just when the momentum is up and ready to overtake, baru keluar signal, there comes a much faster car at the fast lane or even other cars that are much faster and in the midst of overtaking from rear mid lane duh. But then again what to expect? Just an alza, so just gotta remind myself to be patience whenever I’m driving the alza.
*
yup... just an alza. Previous gen Alza is more eager when push. This new alza with softer engine plus cvt.. it becomes gentle.
Not to say that it can't push, just the behaviour different have to get use to.

Done 10k service this morning. just engine oil, oil filter and plug gasket. rm175+. no magnet thing, no batt protector, no windscreen washer tablets...
free labour this round (rm50+ if not wrong).

Okay. I can't buy a car that is hard to park.
*
mmmm hard to answer your question as I have Axia and Alza, side parking nor L parking, all depends on situation and how well you want to be parked in the box.

Maybe you can see if additional 855mm extra length from Axia.. you can park or not.
Else go test drive Alza and find a side parking, see if you can get it in with your skills.

Cheers

Maybe u look from this .. what you need from the car...not want..

Parking or driving.. learn lo
