Last week mizu was selling the 15w50 for rm11 each during flash sales.

Seems like every sale mizu will lower down their prices so doesn't make sense to buy at retail.
Really cheap oil. Cheaper than recycle oil

Apparently mizu will be doing a flash sale tonight. For those interested. I will probably get a few bottles to try. Still have 4 btls of my motul left....but no harm stocking up.

Yeah, will change to the mizu next oil chance due in 1500km. Doubt it will make much difference other than the heavier 50 weight oil Vs the 40 on the motul.

It's a single, low compression motor anyway, don't need really good oil...factory spec is 4500km OCI @ 20/50 mineral anyway.

It's cheap anyway. With 8 bottles (4 motul and 4 mizu), will last me for the next 4 oil changes.

Motul 40 is like high 30. Definitely going to be a difference.

Credits to Balanced
He was talking about mizu oil in /k and I decided to give it a try.

API certification, fully synthetic, ester base, and cheap enough to frequently drain.
Nice find balanced

I didn't believe you when you said they had API cert, went on their website and searched and sure enough, they do have API cert. Not sure what to think now laugh.gif

Just changed out the motul 10-40 to the mizu 10-50.

Engine sounds marginally quieter. But everything else feels the same. Will go do a longer distance highway run next week and see how.

Haha, yes 15-50. Brain fart.

But I'm running to 4500 anyway which is the factory OCI on the bike.

The 3000km OCI maybe refers to kapchais with 1L of oil in the crankcase. And seeing how kapchai riders ride, 3000km sounds about right

Sorry to necro a thread. But just thought about an update.

My fourth order from Mizu. 15-50 fully syn. Been using this past 40k on my dominar. Last time open up the clutch cover and valve cover everything looks clean with no sludge buildup. Tolerences still tight on the stuff we can check..but no idea on the bearing health.

Factory OCI for the Dominar is between 4500 and 5000km. Takes about 1.7L.

Price is good though. Been able to get them from Thier official shopee shop at around 20ish a bottle when on sale or on various live events, gets shipped out in a day or 2.

My friends running tiger also repeat using mizu.
It's not the best, but cheap so can change a lot more frequently. I drain every 3000-3500km

You drain every 10k on mizu?

What is the recommended 4T oil change interval for mineral and fully synthetic? Is it 1k for mineral and 5k for fully?

Even when using mineral oil, changing every 1k is too much.

For low rpm bikes like a kapcai, using mineral oil is ok for 3k or 4k unless you feel it's getting rougher or noisier or clunky when changing gears then change the oil.

I sometimes use mineral oil for my kapcai and it can last for 5k. Fully synthetic for my big bike sometimes after 3k it's already rough when engine is hot. So I change it.

Most people don't really follow manufacturer guideline and change the oil more frequently than the rated 10,000km/16,000km interval

Mine is just a kapcai for normal daily ride. At the moment I using mineral and change every 2k. Thought of extending the interval by changing to fully syn. Any idea what is the recommended interval for fully syn, kapcai <130cc.

It also depends on how much crankcase capacity for oil.

Oil doesn't necessary degrade that much. It's the additives and contamination that usually the reason to change oil.

The more oil you have, the longer the OCI can be.

My 800NK has a factory OCI of a ridiculous 15k on fully synth. But I change by 8-10k.

My dominar's OCI is 4500 on mineral oil, I'm using fully synth but I change about the same time also, around 5k so there is a little more headroom if I can't make the service on time.

It also depends on how clean running your engine is. On a worn out engine, the oil gets contaminated by blowby and this may need more frequent oil changes.

On a daily driven kapchai unless you are full throttling it everyday, fully should be good for 3k, given you only have 1L of oil in your engine.

Oh ok, so just 3k ya. Based on my bike manual, it is recommended every 2k change using mineral. So just wondering how far can I push it to if I use fully instead of mineral. Thought can go 5k, lol.

3k is probably a good choice. It's not expensive anyways to change oil on a kapcai.

If you don't full throttle and santai ride it can last longer.
