I got a 3D design from my ID and the door lock is on the glass frame. Is this OK? I have the concern that there will be strength issues. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, I am just curious.
The vertical line/bar is the gate part right? you means something like this? full glass. 
laminated glass are quite strong, make sure get good hinges.  |
