The thing about luxury brands is that they can’t really be quantified by value. Similar to your LV bags etc, you’re paying for that brand and maybe a build quality that’s slightly better than what you’d get from an average brand.

In the 8 Conlay forum, I made the comment why pay 2.3M for a 700 sqf place when I could maybe pay 1M for a similar high quality build place in a comparable location and maybe spend 300k on renovations. That’s a lot for this size of unit. You’re still in the black there.

Ultimately they are for bragging reasons and in normal circumstances, these properties would fly. But there’s been a perception shift in the last few years, what’s truly luxury now is having my own island or estate I can retreat to with my friends to hide away from the world.

Kirana was not on my radar but thanks for pointing it out. It does seem dated though at this point it’s over 20 years old and what can go wrong will.
