The laser aim will be activated when the predator wants to use the spear gun. Must be connected using some wireless or Bluetooth tech.

But if you had seen AVP.
Alien and predators landed in this planet during the ancient times. Pyramid Maya time.
There was one scene showing predators shooting laser guns at the aliens on the pyramid.

But somehow predator movies have some link to alien movie.

If you remember in predator 2, the final battle scene when d.glover fell into the spacecraft under the lift shaft.
When he was viewing the displayed collection of the skulls.... You can see a dinasour/monster creature skull, a human skull and a xenamorph alien skull there as well.
