Has Anyone bought from them before for overseas car rental protection? Found that the price is cheaper than buying CDW directly from the rental company but not sure if it's reliable.

My prefered travel insurance whenever i went for roadtrips overseas. Claimed once for EUR 1.5k and get reimbursed within 1 week after all documentation completed.

Better coverage than what offered by rental car Co. Cheaper too.

Got reimbursed within 1 week is fast. Actually what kind of documentations you need to provide them in order to claim? Police report? Did you need pay anything or it was fully reimbursed?

Yes. Submitted with requested documents on 17th. received email on payment on 25th .1-2 days after that money already in the bank.

I didn't make any police report. On the documentation u can refer email below

I don't remember paying anything extra. u may not get the exact figure due to differences in exchange rate + bank fee but the amount is negligible as compare to total bills.

How long did the rental car company take to issue you the invoice after the incident and did they deduct the amount from your credit car straight away or asked your permission first?

Normal practice rental Co. will not access the damage on the spot even if you insist. It's a disadvantage to the customer as it will be difficult to dispute once we are back in our home country.

What u need to do is take note the location of the inciden, take video / photo of the damages, go back home and wait for the repair invoice.

As for my case,

Sixt emailed the photo 1 week after i left Germany asking to fill in the details of the accident. (if disagree u can file for dispute).

Took them 3 weeks to issue the claim invoice and 2 more weeks to settle the payment by CC.

Then 1 more week before RC reimburse my claim.

All in all 7 weeks after returning home. In between that time communication with Sixt and RC was a breeze.

Actually this is the easier part..the hardest part is to resist the hard selling when picking up your car haha..

Btw if u choose to use RC for rental coverage, depending on the rental Co, u might still need to buy the minimun coverage from the rental Co. Some rental Co. don't accept outside insurance and won't release their car without basic coverage.

To avoid unnecessary trouble when picking up car, i always combine basic coverage + RC full coverage.

As in some countries rental is really cheap but they make their money from selling insurance and they will insist u to take their highest package. So need to be mentally prepared

I intend to rent car in US and some rental companies provide collision damage waiver (CDW) in their rental but some don't. Is CDW considered full coverage? Do you have experience in renting car in US? i

Never been to the states.Latest planned road trip with GMC to canadian rockies scrapped due to covid

But as what i studied before CDW in US doesn't cover loss of rental car due to theft. U need to buy seperate policy.

Pls be aware CDW provided by rental Co as in most countries doesn't cover windscreen, undercarriage, roof, lost of key damage to tyre..etc..etc depending on your level of protection. u can refer to schedule below.

so i had been with rentalcover for the past couple of trips, until a recent damage incident in UK.
i was charged around 700+ pound for a boot dent, which was my fault

So i came back and submitted claim to rentalcover, low and behold, it was quickly processed and approved in 2days, covering everything i paid, including VAT

i must complement how efficient it was, and most importantly, legit.

so far those who has thoughts on them, i can vouch for rentalcover .
