How you know the network is severely congested and oversold?

Signal level is FULL BAR.

Speed worst than copper phone DSL era. Get less than 1Mbps during peak hours but off peak hours speeds can increase over 10 folds.

Download speed like 1/3 slower or more than upload speeds. Download speeds during peak hour get dial up speeds like 0.5mbps. Upload speed get 6Mbps. shocking.gif

Yet Maxis dare to charge premium rates for its Postpaid service to its customers when they oversell their bandwidth and refuse to upgrade their capacity.

Think of their base station as a super fast Wifi6 router but WAN hook up to a slow ADSL line. Then everyone shares the same wireless router maxing out its total capacity with the miserable ADSL line.

Get FULL BAR signal also no use, so many people hogging the over utilized base station.

Yeah i don't know why some more paying premium for it as Postpaid user. puke.gif
I guess many of us are stuck with iPhone monthly contract plans.

Many people here use Maxis because of its reputation but it seems they don't live up to it as a premium brand anymore since their network is now very slow, and they playing dumb not admitting that their base stations are over congested bt refuse to do any upgrade or increase capacity.

Oh by the way the FASTEST mobile network now in Penang might be YES 5G and Celcom. Batu Ferringhi and Tg Bungah here Celcom really good. 100Mbps+ speeds.

Then should just move over to Celcom or YES 5G...

Since most Chinese don't really use Celcom
(Sorry being racist, but personal observation from family & friends circle.... It's mostly Maxis or Digi, some UMobile)....

Seriously Maxis?

It's 9pm on a Sunday at Ayer Itam your speed has been going on for years now no improvement nor any upgrade.

Why do we even bother paying hundreds for our subscription when our speed is WORST than even a crawling DSL line?

The upload speed is more acceptable at 2-3X the download. But 1-2Mbps? shocking.gif It's time MCMC should be informed that you do not take Ayer Itam/Farlim residents seriously after months of complain.

People use mobile service so that it can use every where, if you remain stationary at the location you are facing congestion only then should use home fibre not mobile service. As you said one basestation you at are congest so maybe others are not and good speed, you need to move to ise at other location or port to service providers that lucky have less users ….
