My Lenovo Legion battery can be seen slightly swollen at the touchpad area. It is currently 3 years old and out of warranty. Quotation from Lenovo authorized service provider for onsite repair/replacement is RM700. Should I replace the battery immediately? Appreciate any advice, thanks!

Try this. https://www.laptopbattery.com.my/lenovo-bat...l-batteries.htmI bought my Microsoft Surface Laptop 1 battery from here. The battery can last over 5 hours of use. Pretty impressive for OEM batteries.

To answer TS, yes, should change your battery ASAP before it squeeze or damage other components or in worst case cause fire if battery being punctured.

Quite a lot of choices available from the website as per checking, should be a good alternative instead of the ASP 👍 This post has been edited by nyhorikita57: Aug 2 2022, 05:46 PM

Newer generation Lenovo laptops would not have this experience, right? I believe there has been a few advancements on the battery technology to adapt & prevent this from happening on newer models if not mistaken.

The one suggested by lawrencesha is pretty good value for the money. Using 2 of these already for old laptop (battery swollen), so far seems ok. Lenovo batteries are easy to change as with most laptop nowadays. Swap-out and in, there you go. Some may need calibrate after replacement. Your default laptop software should notify you of this. Even new laptop battery get swollen over time, if use incorrectly. Or overheat. Heat and incorrect charging is the primary cause, other than low quality battery used.

Yeah I just spent 200++ to purchase replacement battery from the website.
Luckily the battery is not soldered like some thin laptops on the market.

Battery is no joke as the expansion can damage the internals of laptop and even explosion.
Last time I just buy battery from shopee and change it myself. Saved a lot of cost.
Just do some research and that will be fine.
