Do you have a license yet?

Please elaborate if your 60km commute is highway or not or just limited to intercity roads.

If just for general commute on city roads, a smaller kapchai, Scooter up to 150cc or a bike like a used fz150i is the best. For the budget you can also get the Yamaha mt15 or a Suzuki GSX 150 new.

If you intend to take your B Full license you can look towards starting on an Fz150 and upgrade later. The only big bike in your budget is the Dominar 400.

Depends on how fast u wanna go also, any bike can go 60km daily, even walking also can, but how fast u wanna travel the 60km?

The price range is good for new 150cc kapchais and scooters which are not bad for city + highway travel, their top speed is around 120km/h to 150km/h

Used bike u can go big bike like a used Kawasaki ER6N or ER6F which are pretty reliable bikes.

with 15k budget , highway use.

1. modenas dominar 400. 373cc. price is around 14k OTR.
but problem with , you might dont hv B full license. so if you want to to update ur license, can buy this bike 1st, then upgrade ur license to B full L, then register for B full training to get ur complete B full license.

2. naked 150cc, mostly less than 15K. is like mt15, gsx-s150 naked suzuki,

3. 150cc sportbike like R15 v3, or up lil bit for R15M, but i think the price is bit pricier. also hitting 20k OTR, which might as well u take the modenas ninja/z250 that just launched.

4. pulsar 200, its good for daily, but because of the price just lil bit diff than dominar 400, better take that.

5. 15k 2nd hand bike got lots, so its depend on ur taste. just find what kind of type u like, like touring/sport/naked etc.

Not sure about nvx, but it seems like adv150 is more trendy these days.

Anyways if you're budget limited you can try those wmoto scooters, like rt3 or the es250i. Es250 have twin channel abs, with a price tag of around 13-14k otr. Both are 249cc btw. Join the fb group for details of their usage or if there's any issues whatsoever.

Looking forward for the extreme 250 for the slightly bigger adventure scooter from them.

Whatever it is, if buying a new bike, look for a bike with ABS.

There are a plethora of small kapchais and scooters in your price range. You have the NVX, Honda Adv150 (soon to be replaced with the ADV160), PCX 150/160 if you want to stick.to the established brands.

For kapchai, you have the new Y16 but go for the honda RSX as the honda now has ABS.

for 15k price and u said scooter

- yamaha nmax around 10-11K otr. i got 1 myself, good scooter around town. for highway, you might need high windshield for better wind protection on highway.
- yamaha nvx i think only suitable for city, for highway, the wind might get hard on ur. and because of the fuel tank also smaller, nmax is 7L, nvx is just 4L.
- Wmoto Rt3 , 250cc, 15k OTR can able to find depend on shop. other like ES250i from same brand. 2 of my friends using it. so far good. top speed around 160kmh.

- modenas elegan 250cc. good scooter , rebadge from kymco, but the problem is this standard top speed just 120kmh from 250cc, because of old engine design.

- 2nd hand xmax, but very2 hard to find that price bracket. LOL. the price always stay 20k and above even for old xmax.

sorry, missed out the hondas

- vario and Adv150. both using same engine... i think can get below 15K otr. but adv150 more high price due to design and technology. its good for people who want rilex ride as this scooter not so fast like nmax. vario just around 8K OTR, but its bad scooter for highway due to small bike and suitable only for town riding, but still can la if u want to do it. its just that its not design for highway cruising.

i got nmax for 5years, now odo for 50k km. use daily for work.
- engine oil every 3k km, around rm50, no oil filter needed. if follow manual, can go up to 4k km.
- spark plug, every 10k km, less than rm20, but i not sure labour cost. because normally i just service myself
- CVT service, around rm30-50 depending on shop u went. but please go to scooter specialist workshop. every 10k km or less.
- V belt- change every 20k , around rm150 or less include service and installation.
- gear oil, around rm15 for every 10k km.

with no fuel filter, no need chain cleaner etc, no need change chain, sproket etc. i would say the maintenance almost same as kapchai.

OP got plenty of options at 10k honestly, skip the 15k budget, stick to 10k.

With that budget you get to choose between Honda RSX or SYM VF3I. Skip the overhyped Y15 since that doesn't have ABS.

Also no NS/RS since OP mentioned he wants cub or scooter only

Since mixed highway and city i would suggest something that is comfortable to ride at 80-100kmh (highway) and not too big to filter through traffic (city). And since its for daily commute - get something upright and that you could put a top box easily.

Scooters NVX/pcx would be the lowest cc scoots i would suggest, if can get a 250cc range would be nicer.. kapchai takut nanti highway you'll be vibrating a lit since always at high revs and plus the fuel tank is small.

But yeah, touring/ADV bike generally are too heavy to be used as daily riders, and OP did specifically mention that he wants a cub bike or scooter.

precisely.

I have friends that wont even bring out thier 1200 and 1250 to light gravel trails let alone more technical single track. Its not easy to muscle around something that big and weighs in excess of 250kg and 280kg with camping gear. You need a few guys to lift it when you drop. And these are experienced senior riders with multiple bikes. They just bring out the smaller bikes to go off-road.

Its a good bike and immensely capable and comfortable mind you, but not worthy of hero worship. Besides most of us dont have the skillset to handle that much of a bike.

They reported you because you were being stupid.

TS ask for a small light bike, and you come in with your nonsense again. Go troll at the Motorad forums instead.

Seriously, if you do indeed an owner of one of these bikes, you are doing the brand and image a disservice. BMW should be ashamed to have the brand associated with your kind of stupidity and attitude.

to be honest, NVX price is way beyond the Hong Leong Yamaha RSP. Shops are selling at around 14k-15k OTR.

I'm looking for a scooter for daily & may be for weekend ride as well.

Noticed that Wmoto Xtreme 150i resale value drop a lot compared to other scooter. 1 year old scooter depreciates around 2-3k. Does this scooter has any problem?

QC issue happened with some bikes keluaran MForce, not necessary the product is bad, but during CKD assembly at Alma Bukit Mertajam, the QC is non existent, causing the final product defect and out from kilang,... Like the wiring installation done badly causing shorts and burn the ECU, some nuts inside the engine didnt torqued properly when installing and such...

All Jepunis brand fall into the play of Dealership Mafia network... that's why the pricing is Suggested Retail Price by Yamaha.... Honda knew thats why they start the Honda Wings dealership network....

Honda Wing's dealer quoted me a sky price for ADV150. RM16k OTR. This is the highest quoted price I've ever received. Same goes to Vario 150. rclxms.gif
