Hi guys, any good budget laptop to recommend for programming? Most importantly weight and battery life. Gaming close to non. Thanks!

After some consideration, i have shortlisted 2 laptop:

Asus vivobook 15 OLED - i5
MSI modern 15 - i5

Which is better?

acer swift 3 (most powerful processor out of 3), acer aspire 5, or asus vivobook 15 (best screen out of 3).
I think these 3 are pretty decent laptops suitable for programming as per your budget, cheers!

price ≠ value
if you are looking for good value, it will be something else.

Btw, macbook air can charge with any smart phone USB-C. No additional weight as there is no heavy power brick to bring along.

Get something with an i7 8th gen
T480 (upgrade to 32GB) or T480S (16GB)
If can up a little 3.2k can consider T490 or X1C 6th gen or X280 (16GB)

Weight wise the T480 is configurable - about 1.4 or 1.5kg IIRC comes with internal+external removable battery.
so if you think the batt is heavy just unplug the external.

The ThinkPad quality is not as good as it once were. mine broke down within 3 years. motherboard problem. so for the price i think it's not worth it.
