PETALING JAYA: Pelajar yang memperoleh ijazah sarjana muda kelas pertama akan diberikan pengecualian bayaran balik pinjaman Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), yang bergraduasi bermula 2019, kata Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Perdana menteri berkata, keistimewaan itu tidak mengira status ekonomi, bangsa dan agama.

“Saya berharap PTPTN dapat berbincang dengan Kementerian Kewangan berkenaan perkara ini dari segi peruntukan yang terlibat.

“Ini sebagai dorongan kepada anak-anak Keluarga Malaysia untuk belajar bersungguh-sungguh dan mendapatkan kelulusan yang terbaik dalam pengajian mereka,” katanya ketika berucap pada Majlis Sambutan Jubli Perak 25 tahun PTPTN, di Kuala Lumpur

Early days of PTPTN across the board also. But that time no one really paid attention to T20 etc

My only problem regarding this exclusion is some of the students have been taken "advantage" by the lecturer in order to get a good marks or to fulfill the first class CGPA requirements.

The lecturer also need to maintain their professional integrity regardless of what the students begged them for.

i think this PTPTN 1st class - exemption from payment needs further optimisation.

You see many got it then go sillypore and work, knn doesnt contribute back to the country, it should have slowly rebate back in LHDN tax rebate, can be by yearly 10% , etc.

So if that student decided to work in another country then why tax payer need to pay them if they doesnt serve the country ?

Some uni first class berlambak, but padahal quality macam ________

Syukur alhamdullilah not just for Bumiputera only. Usually depan cakap Keluarga Malaysia tapi belakang implement 51% Bumiputera policy.

This "qualification" by CGPA is pure BS.

A UM medical student with 3.66 CGPA, gotta pay ptptn.
A UUM mass comm student with 3.67 CGPA, no need to pay.

I'm pretty sure the medical student study much harder and did much better in his/her exam than the other.

Inb4 those yang dapat pptn hanya 1 kaler.

if i'm not mistaken, it got cancelled after 2014? but i remember it did get cancelled for some years

it got cancel sometime around 2010 i think, but then once a while u get the news certain period they open application for first class exemption (no annouce big big by our PM, just know it from fellow students) then got hear news restarted back on 2021 like that but for B40 and M40 only. now back to what it used to be for all.

all in all, if election is near, PTPTN borrower of certain period (most likely those that can vote) will get goodies.

you wished. I did that for my brother and then suddenly announce pay lumpsum can get discount, went to appeal habuk pun takda

Only in Malaysia where you pay late or refuse to pay you get discounts almost like it meant to punish those to pay on time or pay lumpsum
