As per title, is working in banking domain giving good prospects?
Banking domain as in working in Banks

Currently i'm working in well known logistic company, and got an offer from an international bank.
But realized bank benefits are actually much much lesser than my current company.

Feel dilemma and not motivated to accept the offer.

Like what Mavik pointed out, prospect can be good.

What's the difference between your current one and the bank though?

Then again, seems like you are not too interested in the role.. so you might want to consider properly before the jump?

current one in terms of benefit, bonus and allowance is way better than the bank (2.5 months bonus)

Bank don't have flexi benefits, allowance and bonus is lesser. (1.5 - 2 months bonus)

Banking industry consists of various fields such as investment banking, corporate banking, consumer banking,  and etc. Internally, the bank also have various functions, take consumer banking as examples,  front end retail,  loan, cards, private or preferred banking, and etc.  There are also various backoffice functions such as IT,  compliance, HR,
and etc.

Hence, without revealing the actual roles offered , it is difficult to comment. Just be aware,  certain banking roles will be impacted by digital banking. My daughter is studying in UK,  over there, the trend is to use digital banks.

Personally,  I suspect the roles could be related to shared services set up by that international bank. There are two major foreign banks setting up their shared services at Cyberjaya and TPM. Usually,  employees of the shared services are receiving less attractive packages and their bonuses are less too.

Then, I would say you are a lucky person.  thumbsup.gif

To do a cloud transformation in a bank should have a good prospect. Doing something related with cloud in Logistics and Supply Chain also have good prospect. Hard to tell you which is better.

Yea, cloud is the next thing for future.
I have passed all the interviews, pending the offer stage now with HR.

Having previously worked at a bank before, it's definitely good besides the perks.

But like Mavik said, our banks are still very old-school. Cloud is a challenge to migrate to, let alone blockchain.

Some banks are still very reliant on papers.

how do u define good besides the perks?

A good technology area to be in, and banks definitely need all the help they can get when it comes to cloud. In the past when dealing with internal IT, they always needed someone to help translate what is cloud compared to their on-prem. Not just on the technology side but also in terms of security, compliance and risk

yea thats a very good prospect job but i will be losing all my current perks with my current logistic company sad.gif

Sometimes, you have to let go something in order to gain something. Don't focus on $. Build up your visibility about your career goals and the industry trends.

Many years ago, I was in the field of mainframe computing. When I lowered my wage in order to get into client-server field, my peers laughed at me. To them, I was an idiot, taking 50% pay-cut to get into something I had zero knowledge. They had good laughs for 5 years because there were not many people with mainframe skills.

Ten years later, they received VSS. At their ages, could not find another jobs that paid the same. Their their skillsets were obsolete. Some took their VSS packages to start own businesses in F&B, CD shops, and etc. They did not realize, they were in a sunset field and they did not sense the risks. Without that kind of visibility, how could they run their business?

I can't guarantee you will do well in banking shared services. I only can give my two cents: you need to visualize where will you be in next 5 - 10 years.

logistic and cloud will never got sunset.
it was essential but cloud and data analytics i foresee it's the next thing in coming years.
