Getting Started

Hi all,
Anyone using Rising antivirus / firewall? I heard that it is slightly lighter than Kaspersky and amazingly, the engine will AUTO upgrade to the latest version. That means, without uninstalling, say ur Rising antivirus 2007 will auto-upgrade to 2008.

Infact currently got lawsuit by Kaspersky against Rising. if not mistaken rising is cheap as well.

Something about Kaspersky keep denying chinese characters....causing alot of chinese softwares/files being quarantined. Correct me if I am wrong. Don't look down upon China dude. Take for an example, HuaWei is a BIG competitor of Cisco and it is purely and genuine chinese product. I don't know about ZTE, but I have its ADSL modem and and the box has chinese characters.....I think its from China too.

Rising is a Chinese Anti Virus, and in fact, would be an "alternate" option to protect yourself from nasty Chinese malware (Though I would rather depend on Kaspersky and NOD32).
Its updates during Zero-hour attacks are quite quick if they happen in China. Thus, do not sweep it of as "China Product, Low Quality". You might be mistaken. No offense.
Cheers!

I just found out something about their firewall. Seems like it can look out for windows loop holes in your system and you will be prompt message to patch it from their server without passing through MS windows authentication check. In another words, pirated windows also can be updated!
