Is it better to get more expensive wiper blades replace when needed or buy cheaper wiper but replace them every year?

Right now I'm using bosch clear advantage, started to leave water streaks after 2 years of use.

make simple cost calculation will give you the answer.
if a rm50 wiper works for 2 years VS a rm25 wiper works for 1.5 years,
it's clear the rm20 wiper is better value. How important is that additional 0.5 years to you, is subjective.
wipers are wear and tear items, highly recommended to replace them regularly anyway.

I use bosch wipers too. cheap, and CLEAN. just replace every 1-2 years. no heartache.

Am I the only one fancy RM 15 silicone wipers? Easily last more than 3 years with windshield coated at all times. But I don't really activate the wipers unless the windshield is wet enough.. Maybe that is why I don't have any scratches on my windshield.

Between clear advantage and aerotwin, I can't tell difference.

Advantage uses rubber with steel frame. Clear advantage and aerotwin silicone with beam type - just single plastic frame holding the wiper blade. Supposedly it apply better equal force on the windshield surface because of the simpler frame construction. For some reason, my advantage wiper blade jumped and stuttered badly after a month - it was so bad that the wiper blade got dislocated and leave black rubbery stain on the windshield.

I think clear advantage is already okay.

Not worth the risk of scratching windshield for RM15. You never know how exactly wet is wet enough. sweat.gif

Used to use PIAA, it's good but at RM 300 per pair, it's not cheap. Currently, I am using Bosch Aerotwin (about RM 80 per pair), I think it's relatively good for the price.

Tried few of those below RM 50 wiper, kinda crappy so just avoid it.

Shopee lol. Many types.. Just make sure the fitting and choose good ones.. Not just anyhow pick cheapest silicone lol.
Not sure if its just me.. I actually tried rubber wipers but some only last 6months to 1.5yrs MAX. And rubber wipers pick up dirt so easily my windshield coating wear out faster compared to when I use silicone.. So yeah.. I prefer silicone > rubber.
