Thanks for that. I thought it's watermark. Would you know how it got in? I'm getting a new monitor but I also would like to rate this monitor (sentimental value) - maybe can be used by my father for occasional use.
Here's the surface blister if you can see. Would like to know what I did wrong so that my new monitor wouldn't receive similar fate.

Is that outside surface of the monitor? feels like you wiped it down with damp cloth and humidity got the better of it.

Thanks for feedback.
The edge didn't peel off and no watermark/mold/adverse impact.
No sticker -it's old type of matt finish.

True - I wiped with wet cloth. (I shouldn't is it?).
It causes the film to blister. Underneath film something is happening..

Thanks - I think you're right - it seems to worsen over time.
You know how to change the film or had it done? Is it a common repair?

i guess its your monitor polarizer film that is bad already.. search and see, there are many diy projects on how to change that one...other than that, the monitor is perfectly fine.

electronics, you shouldn't wipe it with wet anything. i'd suggest going alcohol wipe as it would dry up almost instantly.
But at the same time, if your screen has a filter of any sort, you'd want to take note of that in case the alcohol strips it.

Two suggestions above are also valid, i was exploring how it happened in the first place.

I have a Dell monitor, different model but suffer the same issue. Went to repair shop before asked if can be fixed, the technician said can be done by replacing polarizer film. Unfortunately the price was quite high you could almost get a new monitor if top up a bit.

This is how polarizer is replaced but really need good skill.

As per above my explanation to OP is to find out more prior to wiping it down.
I've had no issues with Dell, used dell monitors since i changed fro Samsung, lasted me more than 6 years each.
