Can i ask those experienced getting a subsales landed house whether getting home inspection before?

As reno cost a hand n leg nowadays, i need to know whether if i can use the exisiting wiring or plumbing since its a subsale house.

My concern is that if i retain the current, and once i put on all the built in and painting, and then problems start arising, it will be even costlier and troublesome since v ady move in.

Roughly from what being quoted, around 1-1.5k for my house and they only do flooding technique for washroom and pressure testing for plumbing. For electricity, they will check if any leakage and switch board.

My fren taught me easier way to test electricity by turning on half of all appliances for 3 hours and turning on the rest after the 1st 3 hours and if all ok, then electricity should b fine. As for plumbing, just do flooding will do.

So should i DIY or get professional help? Thanks.

If the house is in good condition and no tenants previously, the electrical wiring should be good. U only need to worry about roof leaks or high moisture at the outer most wall.

If the house is over 30 years, generally need to redo the wiring, plumbing and drainage. Waterproofing also for all the bathrooms.

i think generally, vacant house get deteriorated fast.

a tenanted house, is always in a better running condition, unless users choose to ignore the problems.

Better get professional help to determine the actual condition of the property...

Don't want later trouble for yourself only 🙂

it's important to prioritize safety and quality when it comes to the wiring, plumbing, and other systems in your new home, and to make informed decisions based on your individual circumstances and needs.
