not sure about archer model, in your router/firewall there should be a static IP setting for you to insert the ip and port for certain services.

QUOTE(Webmasterz @ Jul 19 2022, 12:34 PM) i'm upgrading my router to archer AX11000 from default tm router... but dont know how to get all my 5 fixed ip (subscribe to TM) to work First need to ask, how do you plan to use the 5 IP addresses? 1 IP is guaranteed to be used on the AX11000. What about the other 4? anakkk liked this post

QUOTE(anakkk @ Jul 19 2022, 01:47 PM) only 1 on the WAN port, the rest on firewall rules, I am not familiar with tplink, but usuallly that how it works for other brands Actually what we need is to configure NAT. For example if you have a PC with a local IP address, and you need this PC to be accessed from the Internet, you create a static NAT rule for it. The idea is that if yoi access the public IP address, you will be sent to the local PC. No need to configure the public IP directly on the PC. |

In the first place, NAT is how you are able to browse the Internet. Otherwise you literally cannot reach to other public websites or hosts. The Internet is made possible because of NAT.What we are looking at here is how to apply a public IP to a local host, also by using NAT. You can use static NAT or port address translation to achieve this. Yes, it's not secure by itself. That's why we usually have firewall and IPS to secure your network. Having said that, we still need to know what TS wants to achieve in the first place niakulah liked this post

Actually why you need to setup 5 instead of 1 ?
don't think normal modem/router can set multiple wan unless you have firewall. corect me if i am wrong |

Not a good idea to configure the Public IP address directly in any servers. What we are looking at here is how to apply a public IP to a local host, also by using NAT. Also most router have built-in NAT or Virtual Server functionality.
I assumed that you are doing some sort of web hosting or application that is accessible on the internet. Now, inside the router's NAT page do something like this :- Example 1 Source = [Your Public IP Address] Port = 80, 443 [assuming its a web server] Protocol = TCP Destination = [Your internal server IP address, eg. 192.168.1.xxx] Port = 80, 443 Protocol = TCP Example 2 Source = [Your Public IP Address] Port = 8080 [assuming its a web server] Protocol = TCP Destination = [Your internal server IP address, eg. 192.168.1.xxx] Port = 8080 Protocol = TCP |
