Lower viscocity is thinner and has better flow hence the recommendation to use for short trips since it will perform better for cold startups and you won't be revving the engine high.

Higher viscocity is generally recommended because you are looking at higher revs and as such, will need a thicker oil to maintain protection overtime.

If in doubt, go for the cheapest higher viscocity synthetic EO, just make sure to warm up the bike for about 1-2 minutes.
