take karak - raub - sungai koyan - ringlet

50km more than taking simpang pulai or tapah, but the view is not bad and less traffic when once u leave raub.

Naik tapah only, it's not as scary as people described. My first time up slow slow, second time can speed up and down d. The road is definitely wider than kampung 2 lane road. Just don't bother to cut others if you not familiar with the road
*
it's not about narrow or wide
the road there is really really bad

that day i went up via tapah and i saw someone drove up using a mitsu evo....ouch, that hurts

I prefer Tapah as I find there are too damn many mad drivers on the Simpang Pulai route.

Tapah is fairly easy to drive even as a novice driver, modern cars are fairly easy to drive up this road as there is sufficient power and just about every car has power steering. Road has more turns but the gradients are less steep and shorter. Remember this road was built for a time where the average car didn't have 30hp. I drove my 1960s era Morris Minor and it didn't have a problem.

Spg Pulai? Gradients are steeper and longer. Also prone to landslides. Make sure you stay fully alert when driving this route as it is very easy to go too fast only to be greeted by a sudden corner.

Another route if you have time is to go via Raub, beautiful scenery and a fairly easy drive to do.

Many places in Cameron are closed between Monday and Thursday or don't fully open so make sure you plan accordingly.

I think I’ve stayed most often at the De La Rosa Hotel. Just across the road from the golf course and not far from the Smokehouse.
A bit old but still comfortable.
Other times was at a new hotel at Tanah Rata near the Padang and a Homestay in a new housing area behind the health centre.
If got budget I wanna stay at Smokehouse or YTL Resort.

Joined a cycling group to do the Cameron Loop, until from Tapah and Down to SP.
Fuhh that climb from Tapah to Ringlet is unrelenting and then to Tanah Rata also very challenging for lazy no training tofu cyclist like me.

Has been that way for a long time.

It has lost its charm.

I stayed there last December.

Nothing to shout about. Food dropped in standard.

Rooms with view you get traffic and road noise, the ones without a view feels very damp.

Prefer staying at a Airbnb these days over any of the hotels there.

very poor management now.
first they fail to provide us connected room (we request, even request way before check in (check in time 3pm), we already request at 11am n they promise but fail (we come back check in at 5.30)
Than give us room next to each other (they claim), 103 n 104, we reach our room become 103-104-105, i just dont understand how they claim next to each other.

My room no hand towel, floor tower, next room no tower, no door card, no toilet paper.
Spa shut down, No view and staff aint that friendly.

btw i do found Cameron Heritage hotel view kind of nice and beside that hotel, a lot old classic british apartment doing air bnb ...
